“The extraction yields a dense, spicy, and warm palate with a texture that still needs to develop. At the en primeur tasting, the style seemed more refined; today (January 2014), the wine has gained body, presenting a relatively rich style with very elegant oak notes. ” (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2015 - Gault Millau) Delivered in a wooden case for orders of 12 bottles of this wine

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2021 guide): 4* Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the estate:
The estate boasts one of the best-located and most consistent terroirs in Pauillac, with significant potential from its old Cabernet Sauvignon vines, which give the wine its remarkable body and very noble spicy aromas. François-Xavier Borie manages it with wisdom, skill, and an evident commitment to Médoc classicism. The second wine, Lacoste-Borie, has clearly improved since 2014, but it will be produced in smaller quantities in the future as it will no longer include the young vines from Château Haut-Batailley.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated (2015 guide) 16/20 (Very good)
About the wine:
The winemaking process yields a dense, spicy, and warm body with a texture that still needs to develop. At the time of the early tastings, the style seemed more refined; today (January 2014), the wine has gained body, taking on a relatively rich style with very elegant oak notes.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rated (2014 guide) 91/100 (An outstanding wine)
Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
The 2011 Grand Puy Lacoste, with its ruby and purple hues, offers a charming bouquet of red and black fruits. Rich, full-bodied, and aromatic, this Pauillac from Xavier Borie will age beautifully for 10–15+ years.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2016 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2021 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the wine:
Delicious, velvety, and silky, the 2011 offers a beautifully fruity mid-palate.
About the estate:
This estate has had only two owners in 75 years: Raymond Dupin, from 1932 to 1978, followed by the Borie family, represented today by François-Xavier and his daughter Emeline. They manage this Fifth Growth estate, which features a homogeneous vineyard on the gravelly-clay plateau of Grand-Puy, with a significant proportion of old vines. Consistency has been flawless for a good decade now, and some older vintages still surprise. “GPL,” as they say in Bordeaux, produces a classic Pauillac—full-bodied and lively, with richly spiced tannins and a rather straightforward style. In great vintages, it acquires a magnificent smoothness that improves with age.
Wine Enthusiast
Wine rated (2014 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
Reflecting the vintage’s clean, fruity style, the wine is rich with ripe blackcurrant. The Cabernet is prominent—dry at first, followed by a juicy character. It is a concentrated wine, though not particularly suited to long-term aging.
Jancis Robinson
Wine rated (2015 guide) 16/20
About the wine:
Deep black cherry color. Aromas of fresh blackcurrant, refreshing and fragrant. Lively, juicy, and well-balanced. The tannins are soft and dense but not harsh. Honest and flavorful, with a finish of cedar.
