"Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2018 is fabulous, as it already was in the barrel. Strong aromas of Cabernet burst from the glass, giving the wine an irresistible aromatic profile mixed with graphite, dried herbs, menthol, and black fruits. One of the most classic wines from the left bank in 2018. Grand-Puy-Lacoste is super impressive right from the start. This is a wine of great aristocratic class, yet understated in its aging. Don't miss it." (Vinous 2021 - Antonio Galloni) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2021 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, the pride of French vineyards)
About the estate:
The vineyard boasts one of the best located and most consistent terroirs in Pauillac, with considerable potential from old Cabernet Sauvignon vines that give the wine its remarkable vinosity and very noble spicy aromas. François-Xavier Borie manages it with wisdom, skill, and an obvious loyalty to Médoc classicism. The second wine, Lacoste-Borie, has improved significantly since 2014, but will be produced in smaller volumes in the future as it will no longer include the young vines of Château Haut-Batailley.

About wine:
TOP PAUILLAC 2018: Soft black cherry, blueberry, and hedge fruit. A little austere at this stage, but it reveals itself confidently, with bitter dark chocolate. Big Pauillac tannins, no doubt about it—a little more prominent than they were as a primeur. The wine has gained weight with age, and I am extending the drinking window slightly. Enjoy between 2026 and 2044.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the estate:
This estate has had only two owners in 75 years: Raymond Dupin, from 1932 to 1978, then the Borie family, represented today by François-Xavier and his daughter Emeline. They manage this fifth growth classified as a homogenous vineyard on the gravel and clay plateau of Grand-Puy, with a good proportion of old vines. Consistency has been flawless for a good decade now, and some older vintages still surprise. "GPL," as they say in Bordeaux, produces a classic Pauillac, full-bodied and lively, with richly spiced tannins and a rather straightforward style. In great vintages, it acquires a magnificent mellowness that improves with age.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 95/100
About wine:
It reveals itself as juicy and compact, with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, and fig at its heart, surrounded by generous notes of warm earth, burnt alder, and tobacco leaves. The molten texture helps to prolong the finish, while the fruit and earthy notes maintain the rhythm. The wine has a slight vintage feel, so if you like old-school Pauillac, this is the wine for you. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2024 to 2038. - JM

About wine:
Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2018 is fabulous, as it already was in the barrel. Strong aromas of Cabernet burst from the glass, giving the wine an irresistible aromatic profile mixed with graphite essence, dried herbs, menthol, and black fruits. One of the most classic wines (for lack of a better word) from the left bank in 2018. Grand-Puy-Lacoste is super impressive right from the start. It is a wine of great aristocratic class, yet understated in its aging. Don't miss it. 2028-2048

About wine:
A nose of cherries, nuts, and dried flowers. The wine is medium-bodied to full-bodied with very fine tannins, a creamy texture, and a bright, lively finish. Lots of currants and tar. It is polished and truly beautiful. Drink after 2023.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2020 guide) 95/100
About wine:
This bouquet is very refined and precise, harmoniously revealing the terroir, the aging process, and the varietal character. Inviting notes of blackcurrant and eucalyptus. On the palate, the wine has a delicious, almost smooth attack. It has body, class and elegant tannins that lend it power and charm. A refreshing structure supports the aromatic expression and the persistence of the finish. 2025-2043

Wine rated (2022 guide) 95/100
About wine:
Dark, intense, and beautiful color. Very aromatic, refined nose with pure, ripe fruit. Caressing on the attack, silky on the palate, very fragrant, the wine glides across the palate, charming and well-present in the second half. Long finish without any tannic edges. Very good.

With a fresh, fruity, elegant, and slightly minty nose, this wine has a delicate, fresh structure, full of finesse in a well-balanced whole. Truly delicate, especially as the fruity and indulgent finish adds a charming and lively dimension. A beautiful bottle that will age beautifully for at least 10 to 20 years.
