"[...] The bouquet is well defined, with initial aromas of raspberry and wild strawberry, well-integrated wood, and pleasant undergrowth aromas that emerge with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied, with supple tannins and well-controlled acidity, leading to a lingering spicy finish. This is a fine wine, in keeping with the 2014 vintage, fresh and classy, which was not the case 10 years ago." Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2018 guide) 15,5/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2020 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About wine:
Fruity, harmonious, balanced, made for relatively rapid consumption, but with beautiful fruit and a tenderness rare in Pauillac.
About the estate:
Philippe Castéja has worked hard to restore a superb family estate located in the Pauillac hinterland. The aging of the vines and the construction of high-performance working tools have made it possible to produce a supple, full-bodied wine that is constantly improving. Its terroir allows it to open up earlier than most wines in its appellation, which should make it more prominent on restaurant menus, offering good value for money.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
Owned since the 18th century by Count Lynch, until it was divided into two, giving rise to Lynch Moussas and Lynch-Bages. Émile Castéja, who joined the family in 1919, took over the estate in 1969 and restructured the vineyards and winery. His son Philippe has been at the helm of this 35-hectare estate, close to Batailley, also owned by the Castéja family, since 2001.

Wine rating (2018 guide) 16/20 + Favorite (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2020 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About wine:
The 2015 vintage is at its best, with beautiful definition and a thickness on the palate that we had not experienced before. Full-bodied and endowed with beautiful flesh, with racy tannins. To be followed closely.
About the estate:
Philippe Castéja has been breathing new life into this classified growth for several years now. Oenologist Denis Dubourdieu has carried out extensive work here, starting with the restoration of the vineyard. Over the last few vintages, the wines have improved and the château now benefits from technical facilities that should enable it to go even further. Lynch-Moussas produces a relatively fine wine of medium body, which can be drunk fairly quickly.

Wine rated (2018 guide) 94/100
About wine:
This estate has improved greatly, producing very impressive wines in recent vintages. The wine is structured and tannic but also full of black fruit, with good acidity and spice. It will need time to develop, so wait until at least 2025 to drink it.

About wine:
The oak comes into play here with greater effect, leading the nose with creamy cake spices ahead of ripe blackcurrants and red plums. The palate is richly fleshy with red cherry and plum, before supple tannins give way to a well-crafted finish. 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot. Try from 2021.
