“A more ‘generous’ harvest allowed for a demanding blend. Its usual finesse is complemented by a deep color, rich fruitiness reminiscent of blueberry jelly, an appetizing juiciness, and a subtle smoky note. The tannic structure is perfect—present yet supple, sufficiently elegant and refined to age well. ” (Terre de Vins 2023) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Philippe Castéja has worked tirelessly to restore a magnificent family estate located in the Pauillac hinterland. The aging of the vines and the development of an efficient production facility have made it possible to produce a supple, full-bodied wine that continues to improve. Its terroir allows it to open up earlier than most wines in its appellation, which should make it more prominent on restaurant wine lists, offering good value for money.
Decanter
Wine rated (2025 guide) 95/100
About the wine:
The nose is quite heady and remarkably opulent, with notes of sun-kissed fruit. The palate is concentrated and rich in fleshy fruit, supported by a refreshing acidity that gives the wine structure and a lovely vibrancy. I particularly appreciate its fine, mineral-driven tannins, blending hints of mint, clove, and licorice. It isn’t quite open yet, but retains a fairly refined structure, and the various elements are very well presented, with power and balance. The finish reveals notes of plum, blackcurrant, black pepper, and tobacco. 2028–2048
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
Owned by Count Lynch since the 18th century, until it was divided into two estates: Lynch Moussas and Lynch-Bages. Émile Castéja, who joined the family in 1919, took over the estate in 1969 and restructured the vineyards and winery. His son Philippe has been at the helm since 2001 of this 35-hectare vineyard, located near Batailley, which is also owned by the Castéja family.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 95/100
Rated estate (2020 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the wine:
This vintage really shines, with very expressive fruit and great depth. It fills the mouth with notes of red fruit jelly and a finish featuring silky tannins.
About the estate:
For several years now, Philippe Castéja has been breathing new life into this classified growth. Winemaker Denis Dubourdieu has done a thorough job here, starting with a complete overhaul of the vineyard. Over the past few vintages, the wines have improved, and the château now benefits from technical facilities that should allow it to go even further. Lynch-Moussas produces a relatively delicate wine of medium body that can be enjoyed fairly quickly.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2025 guide) 95/100
Rated: Recommended
About the wine:
Very clear and transparent, with aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, pencil lead, mint, and violet. These aromas carry through to a medium-bodied wine with ultra-fine tannins that linger. What finesse and rare elegance! Crisp on the finish. 74% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Merlot. Best enjoyed after 2028.
Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2023 guide) 96-97/100
About the wine:
A more "balanced" yield allowed for a demanding blend. In addition to its usual finesse, this wine boasts a deep color, rich fruitiness reminiscent of blueberry jam, an appetizing juiciness, and a subtle smoky note. The tannic structure is perfect—distinct yet supple, with enough elegance and grace to age beautifully.
Bernard Burtschy
Wine rated (2023 guide) 95-96/100
About the wine:
Over the past two decades, the progress has been impressive, and the 2022 vintage marks a significant milestone. With its notes of licorice, it is seductive while concealing a beautiful density. A classic wine, it has gained in elegance, establishing itself among the great Pauillacs with unbeatable value for money.
