"It stands out in this vintage with its expressive fruit and rare elegance. Built to stand the test of time!"

"A more 'comfortable' yield has resulted in a demanding blend. Its usual finesse is complemented by a deep color, a rich fruitiness reminiscent of blueberry jelly, an appetizing juiciness, and a subtle smoky note. The tannic structure is perfect, present but supple, sufficiently slender and svelte to stand the test of time. (Terre de Vins 2023) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2020 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Philippe Castéja has worked hard to restore a superb family estate located in the Pauillac hinterland. The aging of the vines and the construction of high-performance working tools have made it possible to produce a supple, full-bodied wine that is constantly improving. Its terroir allows it to open up earlier than most wines in its appellation, which should make it more prominent on restaurant menus, offering good value for money.

Decanter

Decanter

Wine rated (2025 guide) 95/100

About wine:

Quite heady on the nose, remarkably opulent, with notes of sun-kissed fruit. The palate is concentrated and rich in fleshy fruit, supported by refreshing acidity that structures the whole and gives it a beautiful energy. I particularly appreciate its fine, salty tannins, blending hints of mint, clove, and licorice. It is not yet fully open at this stage, but retains a fairly refined structure, and the different elements are very well presented, with power and balance. The finish reveals notes of plum, blackcurrant, black pepper, and tobacco. 2028-2048

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Owned since the 18th century by Count Lynch, until it was divided into two, giving rise to Lynch Moussas and Lynch-Bages. Émile Castéja, who joined the family in 1919, took over the estate in 1969 and restructured the vineyards and winery. His son Philippe has been at the helm of this 35-hectare estate, close to Batailley, also owned by the Castéja family, since 2001.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 95/100

Rated estate (2020 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About wine:

The vintage soars in this year's production, with very expressive fruit and great depth. It fills the mouth with notes of red fruit jelly and a silky tannin finish.

About the estate:

Philippe Castéja has been breathing new life into this classified growth for several years now. Oenologist Denis Dubourdieu has carried out extensive work here, starting with the restoration of the vineyard. Over the last few vintages, the wines have improved and the château now benefits from technical facilities that should enable it to go even further. Lynch-Moussas produces a relatively fine wine of medium body, which can be drunk fairly quickly.

About wine:

Very clear and transparent, with aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, pencil lead, mint, and violet. These aromas linger in a medium-bodied wine with ultra-fine tannins that linger on the palate. What finesse and rare elegance! Crisp finish. 74% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Merlot. Best enjoyed after 2028.

Bernard Burtschy

Bernard Burtschy

Wine rated (2023 guide) 95-96/100

About wine:

Over the past twenty years, impressive progress has been made, and the 2022 vintage marks an important milestone. With its notes of licorice, it is seductive while concealing a beautiful density. Highly classic, it has gained in elegance to take its place among the great Pauillacs with unbeatable value for money.
