“"The vintage is in fine form, and 2016 is the best we’ve tasted en primeur. The balance is superb, full of crisp acidity, with a very delicate expression of fruit. A wine with admirably refined texture." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France). Delivered in a wooden case for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery method)

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated 17/20 (Top-rated wine)
Rated estate (2020 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the wine:
Full-bodied and rich, long, very seductive, luscious and fresh, with a beautiful, intense finish. 2021–2031
About the estate:
Philippe Castéja has worked tirelessly to restore a magnificent family estate located in the Pauillac hinterland. The aging of the vines and the development of an efficient production facility have made it possible to produce a supple, full-bodied wine that continues to improve. Its terroir allows it to open up earlier than most wines in its appellation, which should make it more prominent on restaurant wine lists, offering good value for money.
Decanter
Wine rated (2021 guide) 97/100
About the wine:
A peppery, earthy nose with notes of cedar, mint, and blackcurrant. Firm tannins supported by a wonderful concentration of black fruit, along with well-balanced freshness and precision. Nominated by Natalie Earl – Tasting Panel. 2022–2040
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
Owned by Count Lynch since the 18th century, until it was divided into two estates: Lynch Moussas and Lynch-Bages. Émile Castéja, who joined the family in 1919, took over the estate in 1969 and restructured the vineyards and winery. His son Philippe has been at the helm since 2001 of this 35-hectare vineyard, located near Batailley, which is also owned by the Castéja family.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated wine (2017 guide) 92–94/100 (Excellent wine)
About the wine:
[...] It offers a concentrated bouquet of black fruit infused with tobacco and heather, followed by hints of pencil lead as it opens up. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins enveloped in plenty of black fruit—quite spicy for a Lynch-Moussas—with a touch of orange peel developing toward the finish. I appreciate the salinity of the finish. It’s excellent and could well surpass last year’s impressive 2015 vintage. 2022–2045
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2020 guide) 93/100
Rated estate (2020 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the wine:
The 2016 vintage is a real success. As is often the case at this stage, the woody notes haven't quite faded away yet. Nevertheless, the wine has substance, and the overall impression is promising.
About the estate:
For several years now, Philippe Castéja has been breathing new life into this classified growth. Winemaker Denis Dubourdieu has done a thorough job here, starting with a complete overhaul of the vineyard. Over the past few vintages, the wines have improved, and the château now benefits from technical facilities that should allow it to go even further. Lynch-Moussas produces a relatively delicate wine of medium body that can be enjoyed fairly quickly.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2019 guide) 93/100
Rated: Recommended
About the wine:
Aromas of redcurrants, mushrooms, and dried fruit. Full-bodied, with round, slightly chewy tannins and a long, fresh finish. Nice earthy complexity on the finish. It needs 2 to 3 years to round out. Best enjoyed starting in 2022.
Le Figaro vins
Wine rated (2017 guide) 93/100
About the wine:
Deep nose of red fruits, exotic wood, and floral notes. Fresh and lively on the palate, with very elegant, deep tannins.
Jean-Marc Quarin
Wine rated (2019 guide) 93/100
About the wine:
The best ever made. Dark, intense, and very slightly matured in color. The nose is delicate, moderately aromatic, and fruity, with hints of coffee and a creamy touch. Meticulously crafted on the attack, smooth as it develops, and particularly fragrant and complex on the mid-palate, the wine builds in the finish. It ends with a long, lively, and deep finish, supported by fine tannins. It is very good.
