Rated estate (2022 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

A new, ultra-modern, luxurious, and efficient winemaking facility reflects the ambitions of the new owner, Jacky Lorenzetti. He clearly aims to produce one of the best wines in his appellation and has acquired very high-quality vineyards near Mouton-Rothschild, which should help him achieve his goal. The technically brilliant wines continue to improve with each new vintage.

Decanter

Decanter

Wine rated (2024 guide) 92/100

About the wine:

The nose is much more subtle and restrained than that of the 2014 vintage, with lovely concentration and vegetal notes of blackcurrant and blueberry. A decidedly more “Pauillac”-style character, with fine tannins and an alluring finish marked by spicy notes. Harvested from September 18 to October 3. Aged for 14 months in oak barrels, 50% of which were new, this vintage marks the estate’s first use of Petit Verdot (6%). 2022–2030

Rated Estate (2022 Guide) Award-Winning Wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

Françoise and Jacky Lorenzetti sold their network of real estate agencies (Foncia) and purchased this château in 2009 from the Jugla family. They undertook major renovations to the vineyards and the cellar (including the construction of a new wine cellar by Jean-Michel Wilmotte) to restore the reputation of this estate, founded in 1810, whose vineyards now cover approximately 50 hectares following the acquisition of new plots.

Wine rated (2018 guide) 95/100

Rated Estate (2022 Guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

A wine offering unbeatable value. This 2015 vintage, both full-bodied and vibrant, delivers an explosive burst of fresh fruit and superbly textured tannins. The estate’s new benchmark.

About the estate:

This is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular improvements seen in Bordeaux in recent years. Pédesclaux, acquired by Jacky Lorenzetti in 2009, has undergone a complete transformation—from the vineyards to the cellars—that is both spectacular and state-of-the-art. Under the guidance of Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen, the wines have improved steadily, vintage after vintage, with small, careful adjustments. They are now fully deserving of their ranking and, above all, stand out as remarkable values for the price.

Wine rated (2016 guide) 93/100

Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Wine Enthusiast)

About the wine:

Tasted from the barrel. This is a juicy, fruity wine, supported by black fruit tannins. The blackcurrant aromas are distinct and vibrant, with a firm structure and a lingering finish.

James Suckling

James Suckling

Wine rated (2019 guide) 94/100

About the wine:

Exuberant and intense, with a beautiful, rich fruitiness. Complex and almost exotic. Full-bodied, robust, and very dense. Well-structured and, at the same time, powerful. It will take 4 to 5 years for this wine to reach its full potential.

Yves Beck

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2021 guide) 92/100

About the wine:

This bouquet is very delicate, with spicy and floral notes. Aromas of blackberries and cherries, followed by a hint of minerality as it opens up. On the palate, the wine has body and tension. It might benefit from a little more fullness, but its freshness gives it a lively and appealing character. 2023–2040
