“Pédesclaux 2016 is the first vintage to include all four grape varieties planted in the vineyard, according to Emmanuel Cruse. It offers a very precise and concentrated bouquet of blackberry, graphite, hints of tobacco, and a subtle granite-like aroma—very Pauillac. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with silky tannins, impressive depth, a delicate texture, and incredible acidity. I love the harmony and precision of this Pédesclaux, which is probably the best to date. Highly recommended. ” (Vinous - Neal Martin 2019). Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated 17/20 (Benchmark wine)
Rated estate (2022 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
This wine can vary from bottle to bottle, but our most recent (blind) tasting revealed a stylish, elegant wine with beautifully integrated oak, and one that is slightly more supple than its peers. Best enjoyed between 2026 and 2031.
About the estate:
A new, ultra-modern, luxurious, and efficient winemaking facility reflects the ambitions of the new owner, Jacky Lorenzetti. He clearly aims to produce one of the best wines in his appellation and has acquired very high-quality vineyards near Mouton-Rothschild, which should help him achieve his goal. These technically brilliant wines continue to improve with each new vintage.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated Estate (2022 Guide) Award-Winning Wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
Françoise and Jacky Lorenzetti sold their real estate agency network (Foncia) and purchased this château in 2009 from the Jugla family. They undertook major renovations to the vineyard and cellar (including the construction of a new wine cellar by Jean-Michel Wilmotte) to restore the reputation of this estate, founded in 1810, whose vineyard now covers approximately 50 hectares following the acquisition of new plots.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rated (2018 guide) 93/100 (Outstanding wine)
Rated estate (2018 guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
The 2016 Pédesclaux is composed of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. It was aged for 18 months in 60% new French oak and 40% one-year-old oak. It displays a deep garnet-purple color and a nose of crushed blackcurrants and blackberries, cigar box, new leather, pencil lead, and crushed stone. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, elegant, fresh, and lively, with plenty of mineral nuances and a lovely earthy finish. Approximately 15,000 cases produced.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 16,5/20 (Very good wine)
Rated Estate (2022 Guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
The 2016 vintage produced an intense and robust Pedesclaux that lacks only a touch more refinement. The ripe fruit is generous, and the finish features firm tannins.
About the estate:
This is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular improvements seen in Bordeaux in recent years. Pédesclaux, acquired by Jacky Lorenzetti in 2009, has undergone a complete transformation—from the vineyards to the cellars—that is both spectacular and at the cutting edge of modernity. Under the guidance of Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen, the wines have improved steadily, vintage after vintage, with subtle refinements at every turn. They are now fully deserving of their ranking and, above all, stand out as remarkable values for the money.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 95/100
About the wine:
So aromatic, with crushed red currants, raspberries, and blackberries, along with notes of graphite and pencil lead. Full-bodied and very tightly structured, with lovely tannins and a long, flavorful finish. The tannins really come through on the finish. Try it starting in 2024.
Le Figaro vins
Wine rated (2017 guide) 95/100
About the wine:
Fresh red berries, vanilla, and morello cherry. Smooth on the palate with a very long finish, supple and elegant tannins, and a hint of saltiness. A real success.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2021 guide) 94/100
About the wine:
There is great finesse and subtlety in this bouquet! It unfolds slowly, step by step, and immediately signals its greatness. It has a precise and well-defined character on the palate, where the tannins emerge slowly with great precision and balance. They offer a serene, measured power that leaves a lasting impression on the entire palate. A well-rounded and compelling wine. 2026–2045
Jean-Marc Quarin
Wine rated (2019 guide) 93/100
About the wine:
The best ever made. Dark, intense, beautiful, and vibrant color. Moderately aromatic on the nose, with truffle-like fruit and a hint of oak. Soft on the palate at first, very indulgent in the middle—smooth and fragrant—the wine evolves into a juicy finish that is slightly understated yet flavorful and long-lasting. It’s delicious! A rising star, an outsider in Pauillac.
