Aroma of smoky blackcurrant, cherries, and fragrant plums. Floral, open, and generous in aromas and flavors on the palate, with delightful juiciness and overall liveliness. This wine has a tight backbone with a hint of spice and minerality, as well as a firm tannic structure that transports you straight to Pauillac—you can taste the salty stones of the terroir. An excellent wine with great potential for both immediate enjoyment and long-term aging. First official vintage in the transition to organic farming. 2% Petit Verdot rounds out the blend. 2026–2043

About the estate:

Françoise and Jacky Lorenzetti sold their real estate agency network (Foncia) and purchased this château in 2009 from the Jugla family. They undertook major renovations to the vineyard and cellar (construction of a new wine cellar by Jean-Michel Wilmotte) to restore the reputation of this estate founded in 1810, whose vineyard now covers approximately 50 hectares following the acquisition of new plots.

Pédesclaux, acquired by Jacky Lorenzetti in 2009, has undergone a complete transformation—from the vineyards to the cellars—that is both spectacular and at the cutting edge of modernity. Under the guidance of Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen, the wines have improved steadily, vintage after vintage, with small, careful adjustments. They are now fully deserving of their classification and, above all, stand out as remarkable value for money.

This wine is truly floral and magnificent, with aromas of lavender, lilac, and blackcurrant that carry through to a medium-bodied to full-bodied palate, featuring firm, creamy tannins and a savory finish. It is very elegant, refined, and well-structured. Linear. Best after 2024.

It features notes of blackberry, ripe blackcurrant, and, more subtly, wild raspberry, combined with hints of strawberry, morello cherry, and licorice, as well as a subtle hint of blueberry, violet, and very subtle hints of tonka bean, cardamom, and vanilla/toast. On the palate, it is fruity and elegant, offering richness, juiciness, precision, and a fine texture. This wine expresses notes of blackcurrant, strawberry, and, to a lesser extent, juicy plum, combined with hints of juicy, pulpy raspberry, violet, and very subtle hints of cocoa, nutmeg, and vanilla. Good length.
