Bettane & Desseauve
"Lots of potential!"
"It has confidence and a discreet but clear tannic presence. It handles its alcohol well, with beautiful dark spices in the mid-palate, allowing it to maintain an uplifting structure. It is clear that Malbec plays a role in this quiet power. Blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, moving towards juicy blueberry as the palate opens up. It stood out as a primeur and has continued to impress. Wine rated 17/20 (Reference wine)
About wine:
Very developed nose and paradoxically very fresh, marked floral nuances, charming and flavorful on the palate, with a tight grain, very elegant tannins, and lots of freshness. Potential.

Rated estate (2014 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
"Bouscaut now charms us with the frankness of its wines. Sophie and Laurent Cogombles have made great strides, putting their hearts, time, and energy into reviving the viticulture and winemaking of this Graves classified growth. The originality of this terroir is perfectly reflected in the latest vintages: the white wines, which were previously made from equal parts of different grape varieties, have seen an increase in Sauvignon from 50% to 60% in the blend since 2011 (53% in 2012). They possess charm and depth, while the reds, marked by Merlot and a touch of Malbec in certain vintages, have gained greatly in body and texture quality.

About wine:
Although the oak aging is very pronounced at this stage, this wine has a bright future thanks to its dense black fruit flavors that bring richness, balance, and acidity. The wine will develop slowly, so wait until 2025.

About wine:
Aroma of black fruits, black olives, dried leaves, cloves, and tobacco. Tar and graphite as well. It is medium-bodied to full-bodied with firm, powdery tannins. Concentrated with fresh acidity and a chalky, mineral finish. Try from 2024.

About wine:
Medium garnet red. The bouquet is elegant, with good intensity and fairly balanced. The aging is certainly noticeable, but the fruity intensity is so pleasant that the whole is harmonious. On the palate, the wine is delicious, almost smooth, with perfectly integrated tannins. A Bouscaut that is already tempting thanks to its freshness. 2025-2036

Wine rated (2021 guide) 92/100
About wine:
A sweet, refined, medium-bodied, elegant wine with a distinctive style, silky tannins, and a spicy palate filled with black cherries. Give it 4 to 5 years to develop additional complexities before popping the cork. This wine shows much more depth in the bottle than it did in the barrel.
