Bettane & Desseauve
“Lots of potential!”
“It has confidence and a subtle yet distinct tannic presence. It handles its alcohol well, with lovely dark spices on the mid-palate, allowing it to maintain an uplifting structure. It’s clear that the Malbec plays a role in this quiet power. Blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, moving toward juicy blueberry as the palate opens up . It stood out as a young wine and has continued to impress.” (Decanter 2020) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated 17/20 (Top-rated wine)
About the wine:
A highly complex nose that is, paradoxically, very fresh, with pronounced floral notes; on the palate, it is full of charm and flavor, with a tight structure, exceptionally elegant tannins, and plenty of freshness. Shows great potential.

Rated estate (2014 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
“Bouscaut now captivates us with the authenticity of its wines. Significant progress has been made by Sophie and Laurent Cogombles, who have poured their hearts, time, and energy into revitalizing the viticulture and winemaking practices at this Graves classified growth. The uniqueness of this terroir is perfectly evident in the latest vintages: the white wines, previously made from an equal blend of grape varieties, have seen an increase in the proportion of Sauvignon Blanc from 50% to 60% in the blend since 2011 (53% in 2012). They possess charm and depth, while the reds, dominated by Merlot and a touch of Malbec in certain vintages, have gained significantly in body and texture.”

Wine rated (2021 guide) 93/100
About the wine:
While the oak aging is quite pronounced at this stage, this wine has a bright future thanks to its dense black fruit, which lends richness, balance, and acidity. The wine will develop slowly, so wait until 2025.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2021 guide) 93/100
About the wine:
Aromas of black fruit, black olives, dried leaves, cloves, and tobacco. Hints of tar and graphite as well. It is medium-bodied to full-bodied with firm, powdery tannins. Concentrated, with fresh acidity and a chalky, mineral finish. Try it starting in 2024.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2020 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
Medium garnet red. The bouquet is elegant, with good intensity and a nice balance. While the aging is clearly evident, the fruitiness is so pleasant that the wine comes across as harmonious overall. On the palate, the wine is delicious, almost velvety, with perfectly integrated tannins. A Bouscaut that is already appealing thanks to its freshness. 2025–2036
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Wine rated (2021 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
A sweet, refined, medium-bodied, elegant wine with a distinct character, silky tannins, and a spicy palate bursting with black cherries. Give it 4 to 5 years to develop additional complexity before uncorking it. This wine shows much more depth in the bottle than it did in the barrel.
