Note: Quote from the Hachette Wine Guide
“The 2009 Les Chênes de Bouscaut second wine offers the same aromatic profile but with greater suppleness: it’s already very enjoyable. ” (The Hachette Wine Guide 2014). A high-quality second wine that reveals notes of red fruit, leather, and toasted aromas, with powerful yet elegant tannins...

Rated estate (2014 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a good standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

“Bouscaut now captivates us with the authenticity of its wines. Significant progress has been made by Sophie and Laurent Cogombles, who have poured their hearts, time, and energy into revitalizing the viticulture and winemaking at this Graves cru classé. The uniqueness of this terroir is perfectly reflected in the most recent vintages: the white wines, which were previously made from an equal blend of grape varieties, have seen an increase in the proportion of Sauvignon Blanc in the blend from 50% to 60% since 2011 (53% in 2012). They possess charm and depth, while the reds—dominated by Merlot with a touch of Malbec in certain vintages—have gained significantly in body and texture.”
