"This is clearly one of the estate's great vintages, which enthusiasts should rush out to buy! ~ Jeff Leve"
The 2020 Grand Vin from Domaine De Chevalier takes things up a notch and will be one of this estate's legendary wines. Notes of pure blackcurrant, graphite, pencil lead, and burnt earth define its incredible aromas. It hits the palate with a rich body, ultra-fine tannins without any harsh edges, and a long, long finish. This pure, classic, and majestic Pessac-Léognan is on par with the other wines of the vintage. Give it 4 to 6 years in the bottle and it will evolve for 50, 60, 70 years or more. I love this wine. (Jeb Dunnuck 2023) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Eye
Deep, dark red color, black in the center, brilliant
Nose
Big, intense, and well-defined. Floral expression mainly on the fruit. Black cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry. Finely peppered and vanilla spices. Aromas of tannins and slightly peaty earth.
Mouth
An impressive sensation of density, fleshy tannins, and restrained power. The wine's body is refined, firm, and very fresh and fruity. The omnipresent, high-class tannins are reminiscent of the delicate, peaty flavor of great vintages suitable for aging. The fruit is everywhere, intensely... Power, balance, maturity, concentration, length, freshness, tension. Everything is there for a great vintage for aging.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)
About the estate:
This is a property that is admired by all, boasting a superb vineyard in a single block surrounding the château, one of the best cultivated in the Bordeaux region. Olivier Bernard is a tireless ambassador for Bordeaux wines around the world. He is also one of those who knows the value of their product most intimately, thanks to daily tastings with the countless visitors to the estate, a pioneer in welcoming the public. The whites are the most distinguished in the commune, the reds are models of Bordeaux classicism in their proportions and flavor. The latest reds are very impressive for their extra body and complexity. Beautiful nuances, tension, and energy for the white esprit-de-chevalier, which is the perfect reflection of a great wine. The 2016, 2017, and 2018 reds and whites are simply at their peak, and the estate richly deserves its 5-star rating.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the estate:
Since 1983, the Bernard family has been doing everything possible to keep this beautiful estate at the forefront of the appellation. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology and a vineyard that has now reached the age necessary to produce great grapes, the wines are impeccable, both white and red. The vineyard, located in one of the coolest areas of the appellation, on the edge of the Landes forest, is maintained like a garden. The white grapes are sorted with extreme care and their vinification has become considerably more sophisticated, without altering the style or class of this highly reputed wine. Chevalier embodies finesse and elegance, without compromising its aging potential.

About wine:
The purity of the fruit is truly remarkable here, with notes of blackcurrant and blackberry, as well as hints of orange, stone, and granite. A stunning wine in many ways. Full-bodied, with very fine, polished, and pure tannins. A texture of great finesse. Lots of primary fruit. It's as if perfectly ripe grapes were picked. Beautiful length. A wine for aging. Drink after 2030.

About wine:
It is through its detail and subtlety that the bouquet of Domaine de Chevalier shines. And it does so very well! Such definition, complexity, and complementarity between freshness and richness. The wine is inviting, full-bodied, and harmonious. Its tannins provide ideal support and offer excellent aging potential. This Domaine de Chevalier will need time to showcase its many qualities, but it already demonstrates its greatness today. 2027-2045

About wine:
As soon as the wine touches the glass, you discover aromas of black raspberry, cigar box, mint, oceanic influences, smoke, licorice, blackcurrant, blackberry, and bay leaves. On the palate, the wine exudes incredible fruit purity, dark chocolate and layers of ripe black, red and blue fruits, dense and sensual in texture, which unfold harmoniously on the palate and linger for nearly 50 seconds. The palate is full of energy, volume, and depth, ending with waves of red currants, crème de cassis, tobacco leaves, blackberries, savory herbs, and a slight hint of spearmint on the finish. This is clearly one of Domaine de Chevalier's great vintages, which fans of the estate should run (not walk) to buy! Drink between 2026 and 2055.
