"A great value wine that truly represents the appellation!"
“Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it offers fragrant notes of kirsch, candied plums, Boysenberries, and raspberry coulis, along with hints of spice cake, licorice, and garrigue, with a touch of crushed black pepper. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and spicy, offering a delicate texture and consistent freshness, and concludes with a savory finish.” (Wine Advocate 2021)

About the estate:
This 22-hectare vineyard, which once belonged to Montesquieu’s estates, has been owned by the Béraud-Sudreau family since 1885. Long considered one of Bordeaux’s “sleeping beauties,” the estate has been undergoing a renaissance since the arrival in 1999 of the fifth generation, represented by Philippe and Ghislaine Lacoste.

Vinous
Wine rated (2021 guide) 88-90/100
About the wine:
Ferran 2020 offers a clean, lively bouquet of black cherries, blueberries, black olives, and subtle marine notes that unfold with aeration. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with crisp tannins, fine acidity, modest depth, and a fairly structured finish with hints of dark chocolate. It may not be a wine for long-term aging, but it is well-balanced. 2025–2035
James Suckling
Wine rated (2022 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
Aromas of blackcurrant, licorice, spearmint, rust, and bark. It is medium-bodied to full-bodied with firm yet velvety tannins. Compact and flavorful, though somewhat rustic in its tannic texture. It needs time to soften. Best enjoyed in 2025.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2021 guide) 89-90/100
About the wine:
An inviting bouquet with good intensity. It reveals freshness and fruity notes. Juicy and fruity on the palate. The wine has character thanks to the freshness of its acidic structure and its firm tannins. A lovely fruity finish. 2024–2034
