"A burst of tartness thanks to the citrus notes!"

“Ferran Blanc 2021 offers a light nose of apple blossom, chalk, and hints of white peach. The palate is well-balanced with lively acidity, a playful and delightful style: peach skin, notes of chamomile and mango. This wine is worth seeking out and is in a league of its own compared to the red.” (Vinous 2023)

Decanter

Decanter

Wine rated (2023 guide) 89/100

About the wine:

Juicy and lively, it delivers a burst of citrus acidity with notes of orange, lime, and green apple. Deliciously appetizing and truly refreshing, it unfolds into a long finish with an underlying hint of minerality (wet stone) that persists throughout the tasting, giving it a cleansing sensation on the palate. Very typical aromas. It is easy to drink. 2024–2030

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine noted (guide 2024) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated estate (2015 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the wine:

Classic in its lovely pale yellow hue, this wine is understated yet pleasant in its aromatic development, opening up upon swirling to reveal notes of acacia and citrus. Less reserved on the palate, it is supple and fresh from start to finish, with a touch of richness that nicely rounds out the edges. A harmonious wine. 2024–2028

About the estate:

This 22-hectare vineyard, which once belonged to Montesquieu’s estates, has been owned by the Béraud-Sudreau family since 1885. Long considered one of Bordeaux’s “sleeping beauties,” the estate has been undergoing a renaissance since the arrival in 1999 of the fifth generation, represented by Philippe and Ghislaine Lacoste.

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Published on September 30, 2025

While the red is already a success, the white is even more so, particularly in this excellent 2021 vintage. A beautiful fullness is propelled on the palate by a lively freshness rounded out by a lovely richness, a good citrus base, and a floral touch. A lively finish marked by a hint of saltiness. Very attractive value for money. Tasted with sole meunière. Rating = 4.
