Château Ferran has been owned by the same Bordeaux family since 1880. It was also owned by Montesquieu in the 18th century and was already producing red and white wines, which were labeled at the time as “Premiers Graves Martillac.” The new generation, which has been in charge of the estate since 1999, was quickly rewarded for the extensive work carried out in the vineyards and cellars, and this 2008 vintage is a fine demonstration of that work, combining roundness and power with refined tannins—this Pessac-Léognan has it all!

About the estate:

This 22-hectare vineyard, which once belonged to the Montesquieu estate, has been owned by the Béraud-Sudreau family since 1885. Long considered one of Bordeaux’s “sleeping beauties,” the estate has been undergoing a renaissance since the arrival in 1999 of the fifth generation, represented by Philippe and Ghislaine Lacoste.
