"The 2012 red (50/50 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) is excellent. It offers a very pleasant richness of texture with slightly sweet tannins and a flavorful finish. Truly delicious in this complicated vintage!" (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2016 - RVF)

Wine rated 15.5/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2019 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About wine:

Rich and powerful nose, intensely fruity, with notes of licorice and violet. Dense, flavorful, expressive, and long on the palate, with a beautiful harmony of freshness. A lovely, balanced wine full of charm, with great aging potential.

About the estate:

Since 2006, this property has belonged to the Bonnie family, like Malartic-Lagravière, which operates it separately from the cru classé. With 22 hectares in the heart of the Léognan vineyard, including 19 hectares of red grapes, it has great potential, which has been evident for several vintages now. The current style tends to favor freshness and suppleness, not without charm. It has become a must-have in the appellation.

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine noted (guide 2016) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated estate (2018 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)

About wine:

A complex and elegant bouquet of ripe red fruits, cedar, licorice, and smoke; a very supple, warm, and velvety palate, supported by silky tannins and subtle oak.

About the estate:

Established in the 17th century on a beautiful ridge of clayey gravel, this 20-hectare vineyard was acquired in 2006 by Alexandre Bonnie, owner of Malartic-Lagravière. It is managed by the technical teams of this classified growth, who have restructured the vineyard and equipped it with new facilities. Cultivated using methods similar to organic farming, it is surrounded by meadows, flower-filled fallow land, woods, and hedges.

About wine:

The 2012 red (50/20 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) is excellent. It offers a very pleasant richness of flavor with slightly sweet tannins and a savory finish. Truly delicious in this complicated vintage!

About the estate:

This Léognan vineyard was completely unknown until it was purchased in 2005 by the Bonnie family, who also own the Malartic-Lagravière classified growth. Véronique Bonnie-Laplane, Séverine and Jean-Jacques Bonnie are responsible for the spectacular revival of this beautiful clay and gravel terroir. In less than ten years, the red wines have reached an excellent level of quality, with a deep, sensual, flattering style and often opulent oakiness. In 2010, the white wine was created using 100% Sauvignon Blanc, and the first vintages were quite convincing. Now more than just an outsider in Pessac-Léognan, Gazin-Rocquencourt is a mature wine with every asset it needs to continue improving.

Wine rated (2015 guide) 92/100

About wine:

Beautiful dark color with purple highlights. Crisp nose reminiscent of cherry flesh, very expressive. Full-bodied, supple, and fragrant on the palate, the fruit is quickly followed by silky tannins and pleasant spicy notes. A very fine achievement.
