"An enticing nose that evokes the sensation of holding a basket of red fruits ready to be made into jam, with hints of vegetal, herbaceous, and springtime notes. On the palate, the elegant structure and creamy texture that characterize the first wine are equally present here, with a sophisticated finish of chocolate." (Le Figaro Vin 2022)

About wine:

Similar to a fine wine but in a slightly slimmer format, its main qualities remain its balance and classic Bordeaux style.

About wine:

Wow, blackberries and violets on the nose, so sensual, rich, and round. Beautifully fresh on the palate, there is a burst of red fruit juiciness but also a lovely refreshing crispness right from the start. A touch of blue fruit, but there are also strawberries, raspberries, and red cherries. Supple tannins with a slightly chalky grip coat the palate, giving it structure and body. So linear and straightforward, but also layered. Excellent!

2*Star estate (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

Cultivating a personal and incredibly appealing style, this estate, acquired in 1998 by American banker Robert Wilmers, produces a wine of unique integrity and class. Véronique Sanders, granddaughter of the former owner, carefully manages this classified growth on a daily basis, with the highly competent technical director Gabriel Vialard. She produces a harmonious and supremely balanced red wine, respecting Bordeaux traditions, without ever overdoing it in an attempt to surpass the wines' very natural profile. The gravelly terroir on iron-rich soil gives the wines a highly seductive bouquet of morello cherries and a velvety texture that is unmatched in this part of Léognan. It is very difficult to find fault with any single vintage: all of them, with their inimitable, long and refined style, achieve excellence. A word of warning to overly impatient enthusiasts: like any great wine worthy of the name, Haut-Bailly can be austere in its youth. It only truly reveals itself after a few years of aging.

About wine:

The elegance and finesse are indicative of the quality of Haut-Bailly II. The bouquet is complex and delicate, distinguished by its floral and fruity notes. The finesse is also evident on the palate. The tannins are precise, well-integrated, and provide a solid foundation. Good fruity expression on the finish. The wine shows its true colors!

About wine:

Blackcurrant, raspberry, spices, slightly smoky, floral. Straightforward, taut, beautiful overall precision for a fresh and delicate wine. Very good management of acidity and harvest date. Very nice tannins, tension, and energy as well. A Haut-Bailly II that will go down in history. Superb! One of the most sensual.
