"Extraordinary freshness, impressive structure, immense depth, and pure elegance. Captivating!"
"The freshness and precision displayed from the outset set the tone! They lay the groundwork in a masterful, serene manner, with a multitude of nuances dedicated to subtlety and high definition. Dense and refined on the attack, the wine reveals itself with an unlikely serenity. It is powerful, deep, lucid, and aware of its abilities. Thus, it settles comfortably and is carried by a quiet strength, respectively perfectly integrated tannins that not only provide the foundation, but also confer extraordinary freshness while taking care to stretch out the finish. Certainly one of the great successes of the vintage!" Eye
Deep and very beautiful color
Nose
Captivating. Swirling confirms this impression of perfect fruitiness. The hot summer is nowhere to be seen: the vines responded to the extreme weather conditions of 2022 and the fruit is ripe, perfectly ripe. Swirling the glass naturally makes you want to take it further.
Mouth
Broad, tight, captivating, precise attack. Then the wine unfolds its structure, bouncy, generously long. Complex and generous at the same time. It is enchanting and evolving: exciting!

Guide Hachette des vins
Rated wine (2026 guide) 3*Coup de Coeur (Exceptional wine)
About wine:
A little more Merlot (53.6%) than in recent years in the blend of the grand vin, a description that suits it very well in this exceptional vintage with its high concentration. Still reserved but deep, the aromas slowly reveal themselves: ripe black fruits, light spices, fireplace and roasted notes. Very broad on the attack, very dense, with a strikingly smooth texture, the palate quickly tightens under the effect of serious but velvety tannins, which relax into a long, fresh finish, stretching out on liquorice. A "very, very great wine," combining power and freshness, still reserved at this stage but with a bright future ahead. 2032-2050

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2014 guide) 3 stars (These represent the excellence of French vineyards. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical moment.)
About the estate:
The only property outside the Médoc to have been included in the 1855 classification, Château Haut-Brion has a second distinctive feature: it is completely enclosed within the town. Its terroir is certainly the earliest ripening in the appellation and the grapes mature perfectly here, producing a full-bodied, rich wine which, as it ages, develops inimitable smoky notes. After a brief period that seemed less impressive (2000-2005), the estate has just produced three outstanding vintages, including a 2009 that promises to be legendary and an even more aristocratic 2010."

About wine:
Haut-Brion 2022 retains captivating floral aromas on the nose, with peony, violet, and lots of incense combined with intense blackberry and blueberry fruit. It develops in the glass for 10 minutes and only then reveals its underlying minerality. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, offering more substance and a little more grip than La Mission Haut-Brion 2022. Alternating between the two, I am more attracted to the Premier Cru, whose finish offers more complexity and precision. This is a magnificent Haut-Brion for years to come. 2030-2065

About wine:
The flagship wine of this estate, Château Haut-Brion 2022 is made from 53.6% Merlot, 35.4% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 11% Cabernet Franc. Its color is slightly deeper than that of its sibling, La Mission Haut-Brion, and its style is slightly firmer and more masculine, with flavors of smoky blackcurrant, burnt earth, graphite, violet, and tobacco. Equally pleasing on the palate, this Haut-Brion, with its exceptional complexity and fluidity, offers medium-bodied to full-bodied richness, sensational purity and exceptional multidimensional richness, tannins that are both robust and polished, and an incredible finish. It deserves at least a decade of cellaring (it is already very pleasant today), and I think it will evolve for 50 to 75 years, if not more, given its balance, concentration, and structure. 2035-2110

Wine rated (2025 guide) 99/100
About wine:
From the very first sniff, the wine imposes its seriousness and remarkable finesse, like a hunter on horseback in the middle of a forest, his mount crushing wild fruits under its galloping hooves. Scents of undergrowth rise up, mingled with subtle notes of sap. Gradually, the wine settles, revealing calmer accents of graphite. On the palate, it reveals immense depth and concentration, like a coiled spring ready to release. Spices tickle the inside of the cheeks, then the wine unfolds a second life after tasting: a burst of sandalwood, mocha, and additional spices. A wine of exceptional length, which will require time to express its full majesty. 2030-2060
Terre de Vins

About wine:
Substance and balance are what define this 2022. Although the bouquet is a little reserved at the moment of tasting, the structure is impressive, with tight tannins adding to its firmness. The smoothness is there, with notes of lilac, juniper, and wild strawberry, like a preview of its future palette. Race and class—that's Haut-Brion!

Wine rated (2023 guide) 99/100
About wine:
Imagine walking into a flower show with a basket of fresh berries and a lit Cuban cigar—and while that may not be entirely politically correct, it's the aromatic profile of this wine. On the palate, the wine is fresh, bright, vibrant, spicy, and floral. It is refined, delicate, and silky, with a refreshing and silky hint of fruit on the finish. This wine is pure elegance. Nothing separates you from the fruit. There is intensity, length, and striking purity. The wine lingers evenly for 60 seconds or more. The harvest took place from August 29 to September 15. Yields were 35 hectoliters per hectare, and 50% of the harvest was allocated to the Grand Vin. Not only is it in contention for the title of best wine of the vintage, it is one of the best Haut Brion has ever produced. If you are a fan of Haut-Brion and have sufficient income, you will not be able to do without this future legend. 2030-2065.
