"Always at the top of its appellation!"

"A pure and elegant nose of citrus fruits with golden aromas, which reappear on the palate, with beautiful notes of lemon and zest. Acidity and bitterness make it very refreshing. A wine that takes you by the hand into an Indian garden. Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Wine rated (2020 guide) 93/100

Rated estate (2019 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, those who are the pride of French vineyards)

About wine:

Attractive nose of white flowers, acacia, and a floral touch reminiscent of the aromas of Muscadelle from the Bergerac region. Excellent body and complexity, consistently at the top of its appellation.

About the estate:

Its name alone is enough to describe the status this estate has enjoyed for thirty years. Everything here borders on perfection: the whites and reds are elegant and sophisticated.

Decanter

Decanter

Wine rated (2020 guide) 94/100

About wine:

Finely balanced between white pear and rich citrus textures. Very nice development over several vintages, a grander style of white wine. It is beautifully complex and well-crafted.

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine noted (guide 2022) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

About wine:

An intense and complex nose, floral, lemony, vanilla, and spicy, is matched by an equally expressive palate, full-bodied, ripe, and dense. The mineral and fruity finish lingers long.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France

Rated estate (2019 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

Bernard Magrez, who also owns the La Tour Carnet (Haut-Médoc) and Fombrauge (Saint-Émilion) châteaux, has made this property his flagship. Nothing is left to chance in the quest to produce the finest wine possible. The search for optimal ripeness, hand-picking, luxurious aging... This is the archetype of the great modern luxury Bordeaux, which seduces immediately and evolves with great charm. On the flip side, some vintages have sometimes been excessive. Time then puts things back in place and calms the wine's ardor, as the terroir eventually takes over. However, since the 2012 vintage, there has been a noticeable change in style, moving towards wines that are less marked by the sometimes excessive pursuit of maturity and towards less assertive aging, which is clearly evident in our latest tastings, particularly with the 2015 vintage. The estate produces a small quantity of a delicately musky white wine (partly aged in ovoid concrete vats), whose elegance places it at the top of the Sauvignon-dominated Graves wines.

James Suckling

James Suckling

Wine rated (2022 guide) 97/100

About wine:

Aromas of green apple and lime. It is medium-bodied with a tangy acidity and a salty, mineral, and tangy palate. Vibrant and intense. So much energy and freshness. Lots of lively acidity. Tight on the finish. Give it another 3 to 4 years in the bottle.

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2020 guide) 94-96/100

About wine:

Light yellow with green highlights. Subtle, complex bouquet with notes of white pepper, citrus, and flint. Racy, salty attack. The wine has nerve and temperament, with a supportive structure that underpins the entire palate and ensures a long finish. A Pape Clément with character!

Jean-Marc Quarin

Jean-Marc Quarin

Wine rated (2022 guide) 92/100

About wine:

Pale color. Intense, fruity, and subtle nose. Immediately smooth on the palate, with a light body and a hint of oak in the finish. Not quite as good as the remarkable 2018. Good length.

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2020 guide) 93/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About wine:

The nose is fresh, elegant, aromatic, and offers a lovely definition, finesse, and elegance. There are notes of ripe/pulpy lemon, vine peach, and more subtly peach blossom/apple blossom combined with hints of ripe citrus (kumquat, mandarin, quince) as well as a subtle hint of exotic fruits, juicy apricot, flint and very subtle hints of toast/sweet spices. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers a juicy/finely acidic structure, deliciousness, tension as well as finesse of grain and elegance. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy lemon, vine peach and, more subtly, crushed apple, combined with hints of juicy kumquat, quince and very subtle hints of juicy/ripe apricot, apple blossom and an imperceptible hint of sweet spices/nutmeg and toasted almond. Good length.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 94/100

About wine:

Direct, fresh, round, and rich, the wine offers notes of orange and yellow tropical fruits, honeysuckle, and hints of candied grapefruit zest. Fresh, sweet, lively, and long, with waxy citrus and yellow fruits and mandarins on the finish, you can enjoy it as soon as it is released and over the next decade.
