“A resounding success from an exceptional terroir!”

“A fresh, crystalline, very pure, crisp, and vibrant nose. What brilliance! Black fruit and a hint of spice. Very ripe. On the palate, it is equally crystalline, straightforward, and well-defined, without excessive acidity, and with remarkable precision of texture. Menthol. Salinity and an undeniable emotional presence. A finely crafted and dazzling Jean Faure. Simply superb!” (Anthocyanes 2021) Neighboring the legendary Château Cheval Blanc, Jean Faure benefits from an exceptional terroir cultivated using organic farming methods—Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

Rated 94/100 (2023 Guide) (An outstanding wine)

Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About the wine:

A standout achievement for this Cabernet Franc-dominated estate located next to Cheval Blanc. The 2020 Jean Faure bursts with aromas of cherry, minty blackberry, rose petals, and cardamom. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, fleshy and well-integrated, it is supple and smooth, with an enveloping core of vibrant fruit concealing soft, powdery tannins, and finishing with an expansive, fragrant aftertaste. This beautiful wine stands out for its fragrance and ultra-refined texture. 2025–2050

Rated estate (2018 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Don’t expect exuberance or opulence here. On the contrary, the wines from this estate stand out for their elegant style. The predominance of Cabernet Franc lends the 2020 vintage a fresh aroma and creates a beautifully refined, long-lasting palate. A wine of great class.

About the estate:

Ideally situated between Cheval-Blanc, La Dominique, and Ripeau, Château Jean-Faure was acquired in 2004 by Olivier Decelle, who also owns Mas Amiel in Roussillon and a stake in the young Nuit-Saint-Georges wine merchant, Decelle-Villa. Thoroughly reimagined, Jean-Faure reveals, vintage after vintage, striking and exciting similarities to the Pomerol style of Cheval-Blanc, without being a mere copy. For Jean-Faure explores, with its Cabernets, a "Pinot-like" fruitiness that is uniquely its own. This evolution was only possible by focusing the estate’s efforts on significant agronomic improvements. Cabernet Franc is no longer considered here as a blending component but is regarded as the heart of the wine.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 94/100

About the wine:

Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, orange peel, and rose petals carry through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with creamy, polished tannins and a juicy finish. Made from organically grown grapes. Give it 3 or 4 years to reach its full potential.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 95/100

About the wine:

This wine has come a long way, gaining in nuance and precision. It is beginning to reveal its true character, its depth, and its qualities—and they are undeniably exceptional! On the palate, the wine stays the course, steadily progressing toward freshness. It possesses a restrained power that is nonetheless remarkably effective and well-balanced. A wine that stands out primarily for its strength and integrity. From a taste perspective, it is holding back; it is in standby mode! 2028–2048

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2021 guide) 95/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is fresh, elegant, and refined, offering controlled richness, precision, a certain purity of fruit, complexity, controlled density, a lingering quality, and a lovely finesse of texture. It features notes of juicy Boysenberry, blueberry, and, more subtly, blackcurrant, combined with hints of violet, ripe wild black berries/morello cherry, as well as touches of vibrant red berries, Timut pepper, peony, fresh blond tobacco, as well as subtle hints of star anise, very subtle hints of cinnamon and spices (Malbec). The palate is fruity and elegant, full of delicacy and juiciness, offering indulgence, tension, lovely freshness, an airy character in its balance, masked power—or controlled power—minerality, energy, creaminess, pure fruit, and a lovely tartness from the fruit. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of vibrant blackberry, vibrant purple plum, and, more subtly, tart and juicy blue berries combined with hints of strawberry, chocolate, black tea, and peony, as well as subtle hints of lily, cardamom, discreet notes of caramelized oak, and an imperceptible hint of Bourbon vanilla bean. The tannins are precise, elegant, and delicately creamy. Good length and persistence. A lovely wine full of elegance, offering beautiful richness combined with freshness and balance. A subtle hint of pleasant bitterness and coffee on the finish/persistence.
