"So much praise for this organic phenomenon: absolutely breathtaking, Favorite , the best wine in the vineyard's history!"
“Dominated by Cabernet Franc, Jean Faure’s bouquet stands out for its freshness, its sparkle, and its floral, herbal, and fruity notes, which highlight both its finesse and its complexity. Finesse takes the lead on the palate right from the first sip, with a masterful balance of energy, charm, and vigor. The wine shines with its brilliance and intricate details. It thrives on high definition, just like the owner’s hi-fi system! It has power, but above all, it offers a rhythmic and captivating melody.” (Yves Beck 2024)

Wine rated (2026 guide) 97/100 Favorite
Rated estate (2018 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Undoubtedly the most well-rounded and moving vintage Jean Faure has ever produced! Although it is still in its early stages, it already evokes a special emotion. Floral, licorice, and dark fruit notes fill the glass with their aroma and immediately transport us. This intoxicating bouquet brings to life a refined, long-lasting wine.
About the estate:
Ideally situated between Cheval-Blanc, La Dominique, and Ripeau, Château Jean-Faure was acquired in 2004 by Olivier Decelle, who also owns Mas Amiel in Roussillon and a stake in the young Nuit-Saint-Georges wine merchant, Decelle-Villa. Thoroughly reimagined, Jean-Faure reveals, vintage after vintage, striking and exciting similarities to the Pomerol style of Cheval-Blanc, without being a copy in any way. For Jean-Faure explores, with its Cabernets, a “Pinot-like” fruitiness that is uniquely its own. This evolution was only possible by focusing the estate’s efforts on significant agronomic improvements. Cabernet Franc is no longer considered here merely as a blending component but is regarded as the heart of the wine.
Vinous
Wine rated (2025 guide) 96/100
About the wine:
The 2022 Jean Faure is absolutely breathtaking. It expresses itself far better in the bottle than in the barrel. Intense aromas blend into a vibrant heart of red and purplish fruits. Blood orange, raspberry, mocha, spices, and new leather burst from the glass with remarkable intensity. Best enjoyed between 2027 and 2042.
