“What a lot of praise for this organic sensation: absolutely breathtaking, Favorite , the best wine in the vineyard’s history!”

“Dominated by Cabernet Franc, Jean Faure’s bouquet stands out for its freshness and sparkle, with floral, herbal, and fruity notes that highlight both its finesse and complexity. Finesse takes the lead on the palate from the very first sip, with a masterful balance of energy, charm, and vigor. The wine loves to shine with its brilliance and intricate details. It thrives on high definition, just like the owner’s hi-fi system! There’s power, but above all, there’s a rhythmic and captivating melody.” (Yves Beck 2024)

About the wine:

Composed of 65% Cabernet Franc, the Jean Faure 2022 has blossomed beautifully in the bottle, exuding complex aromas of raspberry and plum, intertwined with notes of rose petals, violet, and fresh mint. Beautifully structured, velvety, and complex, with a dense, creamy core of ripe, vibrant fruit supported by exceptionally refined tannins, this wine is the finest Jean Faure ever bottled. 2027–2050

Rated estate (2018 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Undoubtedly the most well-rounded and moving vintage Jean Faure has ever produced! Though still in its early stages, it already evokes a special emotion. Floral, licorice, and black fruit notes fill the glass and immediately transport us. This intoxicating aroma brings to life a refined, long-lasting wine.

About the estate:

Ideally situated between Cheval-Blanc, La Dominique, and Ripeau, Château Jean-Faure was acquired in 2004 by Olivier Decelle, who also owns Mas Amiel in Roussillon and a stake in the young Nuit-Saint-Georges wine merchant, Decelle-Villa. Thoroughly reimagined, Jean-Faure reveals, vintage after vintage, striking and exciting similarities to the Pomerol style of Cheval-Blanc, without being a mere copy. For Jean-Faure explores, with its Cabernets, a "Pinot-like" fruitiness that is uniquely its own. This evolution was only possible by focusing the estate’s efforts on significant agronomic improvements. Cabernet Franc is no longer considered here as a blending component but is regarded as the heart of the wine.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 96/100

About the wine:

The 2022 Jean Faure is absolutely stunning. It expresses itself far better in the bottle than in the barrel. Intense aromas blend into a vibrant heart of red and purple fruits. Blood orange, raspberry, mocha, spices, and new leather burst from the glass with remarkable intensity. Best enjoyed between 2027 and 2042.
