Château Pavie Macquin
Pavie Macquin is the result of a passion—that of engineer Albert Macquin, who, as early as 1887, brought together four properties to create this prestigious 26-hectare vineyard. The current owners of Château Pavie Macquin are his grandchildren. Deeply attached to this Saint-Émilion terroir, they appointed Nicolas Thienpont as estate manager, supported in his efforts by Stéphane Derenoncourt, who has been with the estate since 1990. Together, they have developed high-quality viticulture that has elevated Château Pavie Macquin to the prestigious rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé.

Located on a limestone plateau with high clay content, the Pavie Macquin vineyard is a single, contiguous block. It neighbors Troplong Mondot, Pavie, and Trottevieille—three other Premier Grand Cru Classés. This terroir is particularly well-suited to producing a great Merlot, balancing power with mineral tension. Château Pavie Macquin also uses Cabernet Franc from an in-house mass selection, along with 2% old Cabernet Sauvignon.
