Château Pavie Macquin
Pavie Macquin is the fruit of a passion, that of engineer Albert Macquin who, in 1887, brought together 4 properties to create this prestigious 26-hectare vineyard. The current owners of Château Pavie Macquin are his grandchildren. The latter, deeply attached to this Saint-Emilion terroir, appointed Nicolas Thienpont to manage the estate, accompanied by Stéphane Derenoncourt, who had already been involved since 1990. Together, they have developed a high-quality viticulture that has elevated Château Pavie Macquin to the prestigious rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé.

Situated on a limestone plateau with strong clays, the Pavie Macquin vineyard is a single block. It borders Troplong Mondot, Pavie and Trottevieille, three other Premiers Grands Crus Classés. This terroir is particularly well-suited to the production of a great Merlot, combining power and mineral tension. Château Pavie Macquin also boasts Cabernet Franc from in-house massal selection, and 2% old Cabernet Sauvignon.
