Presentation of the vintage: Rich and powerful, with beautiful complexity and shaped by the expertise of Isabelle Davin, oenologist at Léoville Poyferré. This is a wine with robust tannins, a delicate bouquet, and a full-bodied structure that will refine with age to produce a complex and distinguished nectar.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2017 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
The 32 hectares of Château Le Crock are located between Cos d'Estournel and Montrose, and also border Marbuzet and Haut-Marbuzet. Acquired in 1903 by the Cuvelier family, before Léoville-Poyferré, this superb château, whose vineyard consists of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Franc, is located on a plateau overlooking the Garonne River. Acquired in 1903 by the Cuvelier family, before Léoville-Poyferré, this superb château, whose vineyard is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, is advised by Michel Rolland.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
5-star rated estate (Outstanding production)
About the estate:
The Cuveliers, who later acquired Château Léoville-Poyferré in Saint-Julien, bought Le Crock in 1904. The vineyard comprises three parts, the main one located on the Mabuzet hill and another near Les Deux Cos. The wines continue to improve steadily thanks to the construction of a new vat room, a new barrel cellar, and particularly careful harvesting. Very high quality, even in 2004, this is a beautiful Saint-Estèphe with pronounced tannins on the finish but rich and spicy on the palate."

Rated estate (2017 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
This property, owned by the Cuvelier family (Château Léoville-Poyferré), enjoys a beautiful terroir, neighboring Cos d'Estournel and Haut-Marbuzet. The Château consistently produces a deep, smooth Saint-Estèphe that can be enjoyed in its youth. The latest vintages demonstrate excellent consistency.
