“A new benchmark for this vintage, which showcases the full power of its terroir with exemplary precision!”
“The intensity and clarity of the fruit are incredible. Blackberries, spices like cloves, blueberries, sandalwood, and dried lavender. Full-bodied with a beautiful, dense mid-palate and perfectly polished tannins. Extremely long and magnificent. One of the best young Montroses in a very, very long time. ” (James Suckling 2018) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

Wine rated (2024 guide) 98/100
Rated estate (2021 guide): 5 stars (Exceptional producers, those who represent the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and around the world)
About the wine:
It continues to improve since its release and showcases the full character of its terroir with exemplary precision. It features elegant notes of cedar, substantial tannic structure, and a graphite-like finish that shows great promise. Best enjoyed between 2030 and 2045.
About the estate:
The estate belonged to the Charmolüe family for over a century (the family now resides in Provence, at Château Romanin). Purchased in 2005 by Martin and Olivier Bouygues, the estate has continued on its path to excellence. The new owners and their teams have taken care not to alter the style, but to refine viticulture and winemaking to adapt them to the ecological and cultural demands of our time. The second wine, Dame-de-Montrose, produced in significant quantities, has improved in consistency and expression of the terroir. The latest vintages, among the finest in the Médoc, are more than a match for the First Growths.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2019 guide) 2 stars (Outstanding wine)
About the wine:
The generous character of this fine Montrose is evident throughout the tasting. The color is intense and elegant, dense and dark. The complex nose blends ripe fruit, sweet spices, licorice, and menthol. The palate impresses with its richness, velvety texture, and elegant tannins. A refreshing aromatic finish marks the conclusion of this magnificent wine with excellent aging potential.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the wine:
A new classic for this vintage, which stands out here with a density and power perfectly balanced by fine tannins and a lively acidity that carries it through.
About the estate:
Entrepreneurs Martin and Olivier Bouygues have owned this renowned classified growth since 2006. They have masterfully cultivated one of the Médoc’s finest terroirs, which has repeatedly distinguished itself in the past by producing wines that can match—or even surpass—the quality of the first growths. In hot, dry years, such as 2003, 2009, 2010, or even 2011, Montrose offers exceptional distinction. Hervé Berland, who now manages the estate, is elevating it to a level of definition and precision never before seen here. It is approaching a third star.

Yves Beck
Wine rated (2023 guide) 98/100
About the wine:
The 2015 Montrose offers great subtlety, black fruit, a touch of oak, and hints of eucalyptus on the nose. On the palate, its finesse is impressive. The wine strikes a beautiful balance between power and delicacy. A truly great wine that still deserves a little more aging. An exceptional Montrose in what was, all things considered, a complicated year in Saint-Estèphe! 2025–2045
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Wine rated (2018 guide) 97/100
About the wine:
This is another gem that’s far better in the bottle than in the barrel. The waves of fruit that wash over the palate have a smoky, spicy character. It’s full-bodied, concentrated, long, fresh, and clean, with a finish that lasts at least 40 seconds. Comparing the 2014, 2016, and 2017 vintages over the years will make for many enjoyable tastings!
