"Generous nose with hints of blackcurrant. This is a dense, powerful wine, chewy, with fine but adherent tannins that immediately make their presence felt. I love the texture, which envelops the mouth in the best possible way—refined, with bright red fruit and hints of licorice, particularly on the finish. Everything is balanced, with lots to enjoy. Best enjoyed between 2023 and 2030." (Decanter 2022) - Delivery in wooden crates for all orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery method).

Rated estate (2021 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)

About the estate:

The property belonged to the Charmolüe family (now based in Provence, at Château Romanin) for over a century. Purchased in 2005 by Martin and Olivier Bouygues, the estate has continued on its path to excellence. The new owners and their teams have taken care not to change the style, but to perfect viticulture and winemaking to adapt them to the ecological and cultural requirements of our time. The second wine, Dame-de-Montrose, produced in significant volumes, has improved in consistency and expression of the terroir. The latest vintages, at the top of the Médoc, are easily on a par with the first growths.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

Entrepreneurs Martin and Olivier Bouygues have owned this famous classified growth since 2006. They expertly cultivate one of the Médoc's finest terroirs, which has repeatedly distinguished itself in the past by producing wines that can reach, or even exceed, the level of the first growths. When the year is hot and dry, as was the case in 2003, 2009, 2010, and even 2011, Montrose offers exceptional distinction. Hervé Berland, who now manages it, is taking it to a level of definition and precision never before seen here. It is approaching a third star.

Juicy and pleasantly chewy with flavors of milk chocolate, nuts, and blackcurrant. Medium-bodied, creamy, and flavorful. Second wine of Montrose. Drink after 2024.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 94/100

About wine:

Complex bouquet with good intensity, revealing fruity and floral nuances through scents of violets, blackberries, and black pepper. Hint of malt. Beautiful density on the palate, excellent symbiosis between the liveliness of the acidic structure and the finesse of the tannins. An imposing Dame de Montrose! 2024-2044

Wine rated (2022 guide) 93/100

About wine:

The nose reveals dark red berries, ripe and sweet, surrounded by cedar, tobacco, spices, and scents of the damp forest. There is more than enough ripe, sweet, crunchy, elegant, and earthy red fruit with a hint of spice on the finish to offer plenty of pleasure with just a year or two of aging. This is an excellent vintage for La Dame de Montrose to drink until the Grand Vin has had a chance to develop and mature. Drink from 2024 to 2040.
