Vignobles Mercadier
Former manager of Château Suduiraut, 1er Cru Classé de Sauternes, Philippe Mercadier took over Château Haut Coustet in 1996, founding Vignobles Philippe Mercadier. The properties that make up Vignobles Mercadier stretch from north to south, covering 3 of the appellation's 5 communes. For several years now, Philippe's son Paul and his wife Emilie have been running the Vignobles Mercadier properties: Château Haut-Coustet, Château Pechon, Château Tuyttens and Château de Veyres. A total of 50 hectares in the Sauternes appellation. They both see themselves as a little crazy, but they love and believe deeply in wine and their products. It's this desire and passion that drives them. Each of their wines has its own unique character, thanks to the very expression of its terroir. The winemaking couple preserve and try to sublimate the singularity of the wines, all of which are made and matured with a profound love of wine. It's an essential ingredient for creating pleasure and a different kind of Sauternes. Sauternes is a magical wine, to be enjoyed on any occasion without a second thought.
