"A Chablis Premier Cru with impressive balance and remarkable aging potential, according to Tim Atkin!"

"According to the winemaker, this is a Premier Cru-Plus. This full-bodied, ripe, and concentrated wine reveals vibrant aromas of peach, crisp apple, and Bosc pear, enhanced by subtle notes of apricot, butter, and toast. Fifteen percent was fermented and aged in barrels, which contributes to its round texture and lingering finish. It will develop greater minerality with age. Drink now or celller.” (James Suckling 2024)

Rated estate (2022 guide): 4 stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

This historic winery, founded in 1831, is now run with great energy by Albéric Bichot, the sixth generation of a family whose presence in Burgundy dates back to the 13th century. Supported by Alain Serveau (technical director) and Christophe Chavel (wine director), these three musketeers have built a unique model of a Burgundian estate, with Bichot-labeled wines across all the appellations of Greater Burgundy, as well as four estates rich in fine crus: Long-Depaquit for Chablis, Clos-Frantin for the Côte de Nuits, Domaine du Pavillon for the Côte de Beaune, and Domaine Adélie for the Côte Chalonnaise.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

This historic Beaune winery, led by Albéric Bichot since 1996, has not always been known for the consistency and quality of its wines. Things have changed significantly since then. Under the Albert Bichot label, you’ll find wines from six estates: Long-Depaquit in Chablis (see this address), Clos Frantin and Château-Gris in the Côte de Nuits, Domaine du Pavillon, Domaine Adélie in the Côte Chalonnaise, and Domaine de Rochegrès in Beaujolais. Each of these estates has its own winemaking facilities and dedicated teams, led by the general technical director, Alain Serveau.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 90-92/100

About the wine:

Here we find the classic characteristics of Chablis—hints of quinine, essential oils, sea breeze, and citrus—in a floral, pear-scented nose. The medium-bodied palate is both rich and refined, with lovely liveliness, while offering a beautiful length on a dry but not overly austere finish. 2028+

Wine rated (2025 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

This wine exudes vibrant citrus aromas and the fragrant scent of linden tea. Lively and fresh on the palate, its rich texture is balanced by tannins reminiscent of lime zest, which temper its full-bodied character. It displays impressive balance and remarkable aging potential. These 60-year-old vines are planted on a steep hillside.

About the wine:

A pale lemon color, offering pure aromas of white fruit right from the start. Elegant and briny, not overly full-bodied, with good length on the palate. A subtle yet alluring Vaucopins from the southern part of the vineyard. 15% oak. Best enjoyed between 2027 and 2032.
