"This is a Premier Cru-plus, according to the winemaker's description. This full-bodied, ripe, and concentrated wine reveals vibrant aromas of peach, crisp apple, and Bosc pear, enhanced by subtle notes of apricot, butter, and toast. 15% was fermented and aged in barrels, which adds to the round texture and lingering finish. It will gain minerality with age. Drink now or cellar.” (James Suckling 2024)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, the pride of French vineyards)
About the estate:
This historic house, founded in 1831, is now run with great enthusiasm by Albéric Bichot, the sixth generation of a family whose presence in Burgundy dates back to the 13th century. Supported by Alain Serveau (technical director) and Christophe Chavel (wine director), these three musketeers have built an original model of a Burgundy house, with Bichot wines in all the appellations of the greater Burgundy region, as well as four estates richly endowed with fine wines: Long-Depaquit for Chablis, Clos-Frantin for Côte de Nuits, Domaine du Pavillon for Côte de Beaune, and Domaine Adélie for Côte Chalonnaise.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
This historic Beaune-based winery, run by Albéric Bichot since 1996, has not always been known for the consistency and quality of its wines. But things have changed significantly. The Albert Bichot label now encompasses wines from six estates: Long-Depaquit in Chablis (see this address), Clos Frantin and Château-Gris in Côte de Nuits, Domaine du Pavillon, Domaine Adélie in Côte Chalonnaise, and Domaine de Rochegrès in Beaujolais. Each of these structures has its own winemaking facilities and dedicated teams, led by technical director Alain Serveau.

About wine:
Here, the classic characteristics of Chablis are more pronounced, with notes of quinine, essential oils, sea breeze, and citrus on the floral, pear-scented nose. The medium-bodied palate is both rich and refined, with lovely liveliness, while offering a nice length on a dry but not overly austere finish. 2028+

Wine rated (2025 guide) 93/100
About wine:
This wine exudes vibrant citrus aromas and the fragrant scent of linden tea. Lively and fresh on the palate, its rich texture is balanced by tannins reminiscent of lime zest, which temper its full-bodied character. It displays impressive balance and remarkable aging potential. These 60-year-old vines are planted on a steep hillside.

About wine:
A pale lemon color, offering pure aromas of white fruit right from the start. Elegant and briny, not overly full-bodied, with good length on the palate. A subtle yet appealing Vaucopins, sourced from the southern part of the vineyard. 15% oak. Best enjoyed between 2027 and 2032.
