Gilbert & Gaillard
"Light golden yellow color. A youthful nose that seduces with its aromas of apple and pear flesh, delicately floral in the background. Full-bodied on the palate with a warm attack that echoes the same aromatic register. Its firmer finish contributes to its balance." (Le Guide des Vins 2016 - Gilbert & Gaillard)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
We have been following this estate for some time now and are delighted with Charly Nicolle's serious approach and steady progress. Working the terroirs of Fleys, including the two premier crus Les Fourneaux and the easternmost part of Mont de Milieu, he produces a small range of wines with great density on the palate, bringing out the distinctive minerality of each cru. This is a sure bet for the sector.

Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2018) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)
About wine:
An expressive wine (citrus, almond, brioche), generous, smooth, and round on the palate, refined and elongated by a fine acidity.
About the estate:
Charly Nicolle's great-grandparents were already growing grapes. Following in the footsteps of previous generations, the young winemaker embarked on his own adventure. Based in Fleys, east of Chablis, he created his own estate in 2011, carefully tending his 17 hectares of Chardonnay vines, and has established himself as a reliable producer in the Chablis region. He also runs the family estate of La Mandelière.

A lovely wine, not necessarily typical of Chablis, very floral, but personally I expect more from a Chablis premier cru in terms of complexity in particular.
