About the wine:
With its nose of white pepper, Blanchot is very fleshy, but the tension of the vintage quickly takes over on a finish full of vitality and sap.
About the domain :
With 29 hectares of vines (certified organic in 2018), this domaine, founded in 2016, is based on the vineyard kept by Romain and Damien Bouchard, the children of Pascal Bouchard, who in 2015 sold his trading business to the Albert Bichot house. In the grounds of a beautiful Chablis mansion, an underground cellar was built to house hand-harvested grapes, vinified with indigenous yeasts and with no input other than a little sulfur after pressing and at bottling. With 1.5 hectares in Grand Cru (Clos, Blanchot, Vaudésir), 8 hectares in Premier Cru (including Fourchaume, Mont de Milieu and Vau de Vey), and the rest in Chablis and Petit Chablis, this address has everything it takes to become a sure bet in the appellation. The generous, ripe wines may disconcert fans of refined Chablis, but they are renewing the local landscape.
