James Suckling
"This Givry Premier Cru offers sublime structure and freshness—it’s best left to age in the cellar!"
"Very young (and slightly reductive), this wine skillfully balances fresh elegance with a creamy, understated richness on a well-structured, medium-bodied palate. A fairly elegant finish with blood orange freshness and moderately dry tannins. Needs a little more time in the bottle to reach its full potential. Can be enjoyed now, but will be at its peak starting in 2027.” (James Suckling 2025)

Rated 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Passed down through his sons-in-law, this 14-hectare estate located in the hamlet of Russilly, north of the Givry appellation, is managed by Jonathan Brunot, Denis Valdenaire’s son-in-law. He practices sustainable viticulture without herbicides; the grapes are harvested mechanically and sorted using optical sorting, followed by fairly traditional winemaking methods and extended aging.

About the wine:
Well-defined fruit, still a bit young and quite complex. Floral and smoky notes, strawberry, and red berries. A classic Pinot: graceful, easy-drinking, and sophisticated, with lovely freshness and silky tannins. A luminous, food-friendly, and almost intellectual wine. 2025–2035
