“Gilded with fine gold, this wine’s color is edged with green highlights. The nose reveals subtle woody notes set against a fruity and floral backdrop: vine peach, lemon, rose, and orange blossom. Lively on the palate from the first sip, it is nicely oaked, delicately fruity, and delightfully long.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2019)

Wine noted (guide 2019) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated estate (2019 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the wine:

Gilded with fine gold, this wine’s color is edged with green highlights. The nose reveals subtle woody notes against a backdrop of fruit and flowers: vine peach, lemon, rose, and orange blossom. Lively on the palate from the first sip, it is nicely woody, delicately fruity, and delightfully long-lasting.

About the estate:

The estate was established by Francis Fichet in 1976, breaking away from the Igé cooperative winery. His sons, Pierre-Yves and Olivier, who have been at the helm since 1999, now cultivate 35 hectares of vineyards, from which they produce some fifteen different wines made from the four Burgundy grape varieties. A reliable choice in the Mâconnais region, complemented in 2006 by a small wine merchant operation.

Very Burgundian on the nose and palate, with noticeable oak that isn't overpowering. I'll place another order once the 2008 vintage is released.
