“The 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune Haut-Jarrons 1er Cru comes from a north/northeast-facing plot on deeper, sandier soils that produce more tannins. It offers my best bouquet of this vintage: very vibrant red cherries and wild strawberries, with notes of wild rose petals. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with a fleshy, caressing attack, a beautiful texture, and well-balanced acidity that unfolds nicely on the finish. Very elegant in style, this wine comes highly recommended. 2026–2038” (Vinous 2025)

Traditional method: cold maceration for about 6 days, fermentation for about two weeks, 100% destemmed grapes, and regular pumping over and punching down

Notes of forest floor, spices, and dark fruits, with a hint of smokiness

Palate

Like most of our 2017 vintages, this wine displays good structure, depth, and pleasant oak notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with great complexity. Often full-bodied and tannic, it offers lovely aromas of cherry and forest floor, though it remains closed in its youth. It requires a few years to reach its full potential and is well-suited for long-term aging. Leaf removal on this plot allowed the grapes to reach a good level of ripeness.
