"Subtly nuanced by a hint of oak (from reserve wines aged in oak casks), this is a remarkable expression of Pinot Noir: even the bubbles are generous, rising in fine strands against a perfectly golden hue. Rich and ripe, the nose combines hazelnut, candied fruit, quince paste, dark berries, and mocha. The candied fruit takes on notes of apricot and nectarine on a full-bodied, long palate, marked on the finish by a touch of crème de cassis. Richness and elegance.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020)

About the wine:
With subtle woody notes (from reserve wines aged in oak casks), this is a remarkable expression of Pinot Noir: even the bubbles are generous, rising in fine strands against a perfectly golden hue. Rich and ripe, the nose combines hazelnut, candied fruit, quince paste, black berries, and mocha. The candied fruit takes on notes of apricot and nectarine in a full-bodied, long-lasting palate, marked on the finish by a touch of crème de cassis. Richness and elegance.
About the estate:
A renowned winery in the Côte des Bar (Aube) region, founded in 1895. Émile Fleury was the first to graft Pinot Noir; Robert sold his first bottles in 1929, and Jean-Pierre is a pioneer of biodynamics in Champagne: he converted his 15 hectares to biodynamic farming as early as 1989. Twenty years later, his three children joined the business: Morgane runs a wine shop in Paris, Jean-Sébastien oversees winemaking, and Benoît manages the vineyards.

About the wine:
The 2017 Blanc de Noirs showcases the fine character of a lively Pinot Noir with a creamy mousse.
About the estate:
A pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in Champagne since 1989, the Fleury family crafts delicious, Pinot Noir-dominated champagnes using grapes from their own vineyards and organic grapes they purchase. Their vineyard in Barséquan is maturing, and the viticultural practices they’ve implemented add extra depth of flavor to wines partially aged in oak, under cork (Boléro, vintage extra-brut), and without sulfur for certain cuvées. Unconventional in the Champagne world, this visionary house expresses the roundness and maturity of Aube Pinot Noir in a delicious range of wines. Jean-Sébastien Fleury has brilliantly taken up the torch from his father Jean-Pierre, a biodynamic winemaker respected by his peers.
