“A signature wine from the house—a beautiful, well-rounded, elegant vintage, perfect for the holidays!”
"Composed primarily of Pinot Noir, this cuvée naturally features red fruit notes. There are also hints of tea, bay leaf, and eucalyptus, followed by subtle notes of sweet spices. On the palate, with notes of jujube and stone fruit, it is elegant, firm, deep, and tightly structured. A wine with substance and structure that should be decanted to allow it to open up.” (Le Gault & Millau 2026).

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2025 guide) 92/100
Rated estate (2025 guide) 5*Stars (Exceptional producers, those representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and around the world)
About the estate:
Gosset remains a small house in the world of Champagne giants, selling an average of one million bottles annually. At the helm of the technical team is a dynamic duo—Odilon de Varine and Gabrielle Malagu—crafting a range that stays true to its core principles: freshness, liveliness, and minerality. To stay the course despite recent climate changes and the grapes’ increased ripeness, the house now favors Chardonnay in its blends, with a reduced proportion of Pinot Noir to maintain the consistent final flavor. Thanks to its consistency and assertive style, the range—which offers numerous cuvées, including some made from long-aged wines—deserved to be rewarded with an additional star. The winery has reached the pinnacle of our rankings.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
“The oldest house in Champagne” was founded in 1584, before the region’s wine became sparkling, by Pierre Gosset, alderman of Aÿ and vineyard owner. At the time, the wines from this town, often red, rivaled those of Beaune at court. Thirteen generations have succeeded Pierre Gosset. Now based in Épernay, the company has been part of the Renaud-Cointreau group since 1993. Gosset champagnes do not undergo malolactic fermentation. In 2016, Odilon de Varine, deputy director and oenologist, succeeded Jean-Pierre Mareigner. He was joined the following year by Gabrielle Malagu, to whom he entrusted joint responsibility for the cellar at the end of 2022.

Rated estate (2025 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the wine:
A beautiful color; the nose is open, with a profile dominated by Pinot grapes. The fruit is fully ripe, with hints of stone fruit and mirabelle plums. The wine is full-bodied with a rich, flavorful texture and a creamy mousse. It is a substantial wine, with a dosage that rounds out the edges without being excessive.
About the estate:
The oldest Champagne house, founded in 1584, has been owned by the Renaud-Cointreau Group since 1994. Now under the leadership of Odilon de Varine and Gabrielle Bouby-Malagu in the cellar, it is distinguished by its consistent production of wines that are intense and powerful, yet characterized by a beautiful tension that balances them and allows for harmonious aging.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2025 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
The nose is fragrant with vibrant red floral notes. Rosy, musky, and aromatic, it offers great freshness and a very subtle complexity reminiscent of biscuit. The palate is assertive and well-structured, truly coming into its own as it develops, delivering aromas of vibrant red fruits, ripe peach, and nectarine. The finish is slightly spicy. An expressive style to enjoy now.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
The Champagne Grande Réserve Brut NV has a brilliant straw-yellow color and releases pure, inviting aromas of white peach, fresh flowers, and wet stone from the glass. Medium-bodied, with a fresh palate, a crisp and velvety mousse, and a delicate, briny finish, it is a wonderful showcase of the house’s fresh style. Best enjoyed between 2023 and 2030.

A particularly refined and elegant presentation. A luminous golden color. Fine, abundant bubbles. A rich, full-bodied palate, fruity and floral. Delicate mineral tension carried by a pronounced vinous character, in the style of Maison Gosset. A very long, refreshing finish that leaves a mouth-watering, buttery, and chalky impression on the palate. Excellent value for money, especially since the price has remained virtually stable over the last three years at 1J1V, which is rare for Champagne... Served at 10°C, the elegant "Grande Réserve" was chosen as the New Year’s Eve aperitif because it pairs perfectly with Aquitaine caviar, highlighting its character—at once buttery, tangy, and slightly salty. Rating = 4.3.

An excellent classic aperitif champagne. With a very pleasant roundness, this is a wine that invites you to take your time savoring it. It comes across as the family friend who is always a confidant, someone you want to share interesting stories with, along with your spouse and children, during a leisurely aperitif. It also pairs well with certain dishes, but with caution given its 8g of residual sugar.
