"The accessible 2017 Castillo de Belarfonso Grenache was made from grapes grown in the village of Real de San Vicente, one of the villages in the Sierra de Gredos within the Méntrida appellation. It has a bright ruby color and a sparkling nose with intense aromas of red fruit and spices. It is an excellent introduction to Gredos wines. The accessible 2017 Castillo de Belarfonso Grenache was made from grapes grown in the village of Real de San Vicente, one of the villages in the Sierra de Gredos within the Méntrida appellation. It has a bright ruby color and a sparkling nose with intense aromas of red fruit and spices. It is an excellent introduction to Gredos wines. I really liked it; it overcomes the effect of the warm vintage and offers good freshness.

About the estate:

I have sampled a selection of Canopy's finest wines on several occasions. The wines remain fresh even in a sunny vintage such as 2015. The vines are cultivated organically, fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts, and the wine is aged in barrels that have been used for two or three vintages, with a preference for large containers, which rounds out the tannins without leaving any mark on the wine. This is a very high-quality estate, producing wines that perfectly reflect the vintage and their chosen terroir.
