Lopez de Heredia - Viña Gravonia Crianza 2012

“2012 was a very well-rounded vintage in Rioja, even though it was quite dry, and the 2012 Viña Gravonia Blanco is showing itself beautifully. It is very intense, with two levels of complexity, intensity, and depth above the 2013 that I tasted alongside it. It has the classic aromas of lanolin, petroleum, mushrooms, dried yellow flowers, and chamomile, with perfect ripeness. The palate is round and glyceric, quite lush, and leaves your mouth full of umami with a salty finish. It should age well in the bottle; one of Gravonia’s best vintages in recent years.” (Wine Advocate 2020 - Luis Gutiérrez)

About the wine:
Beautiful aromas of vanilla, praline, and baked shortcrust pastry. Some waxy notes. Full-bodied and very dry on the palate, with flavors mirroring the aromas. Vanilla cream on the finish. Dried peach as well. A very typical white wine, barrel-fermented in Rioja. A classic. Best enjoyed now.
