This wine breaks new ground with its use of a native grape variety, Assyrtiko. Its aromatic nose reveals notes of coconut and flint. On the palate, it boasts a full-bodied structure, striking a perfect balance between richness and liveliness, reminiscent of crisp berries. The finish is a delight, full of tension and elegance. A wine of great style for adventurous wine lovers!

About the estate:
(The Best Wines of Greece) Lean Karatsalos and Yannis Paraskevopoulos run this winery, founded in 1994 and considered one of the most promising in Greece. Production here spans two wine-growing regions. One is in the Cyclades, on the island of Santorini, in the Episkopi area, where they produce a white wine made from Assyrtiko. This volcanic island allows this local grape variety, which is very fruity in its youth, to develop minerality with age. The other is in the Peloponnese, in Koutsi, a small village where the winery established its cellar in 1997. In this region, at the heart of the Nemea appellation, it produces both white and red table wines, always made from indigenous grape varieties such as Rhoditis and Moshofilero, with their pink berries, and Aghiorghitiko or Saint Georges, with its small black clusters.

Tasted in April 2020. Very dry on the palate but with good length. Pair with very dry goat cheeses.
