Elio Altare - Barolo Cerreta 2013

Elio Altare - Barolo Cerreta 2013

96+/100

Robert Parker

ready-to-drink

“The 2013 Barolo Riserva Cerretta displays great freshness and boldness. It is a magnificent wine—tight, light, and refined. It exhibits generous body. The wine finishes with lingering notes of earth, rust, and dusty marble. The tannins are firm and well-integrated. Well done!” (Wine Advocate 2019 - Monica Larner)

About the wine:

This was the last Barolo we tasted from the Altare range, which is organized in order of increasing intensity and power—and it was a real treat. Harvested on October 11 from the Serralunga d’Alba vineyard, the 2013 Barolo Riserva Cerretta displays plenty of freshness and boldness. It is a magnificent wine, tight, light, and refined. It displays generous volume. The wine finishes with lingering notes of earth, rust, and dusty marble. The tannins are firm and well-integrated. Great work!
