“The latest vintage of Renato Ratti’s flagship wine: surprising, precise, and focused on elegance, according to Suckling!”

“Distinct aromas of graphite, violet, mint, and chalky minerality. A striking and precise wine, focused on elegance, with citrus flavors, a full body, and sumptuous, velvety tannins supported by freshness. A long, youthful, and flavorful finish.” (James Suckling 2025)

About the wine:

Aromas of macerated cherries and raspberries are complemented by notes of orange peel, iron, and menthol in this juicy red wine. It takes time for the soft tannins to mellow, with a blend of savory and fruity elements on the finish. It offers a lovely balance and a nice length. Best enjoyed between 2029 and 2048.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 17/20

About the wine:

La Morra. Medium ruby color, bright with orange highlights. An open nose with lively cherry aromas, dark spice notes, and a hint of fresh mint. Much more concentrated on the palate. Fresh, supple cherry fruit with a layer of velvety tannins. The finish is tight for now: the best is yet to come. 2028–2040

Wine rated (2025 guide) 94/100

About the wine:

The 2021 Barolo Marcenasco boasts a brilliant brick-red color and offers great complexity and clarity on the nose, opening with notes of candied orange, anise, cranberries, red currants, and minty herbs. The palate is equally concentrated, with refreshing energy and pronounced acidity, well-defined, rounded tannins, and a tart finish. This is a beautiful wine from Ratti, with plenty of personality, capable of aging gracefully and improving over the next 15 years or more. I would very much like to cover their wines more extensively in the future. 2025–2040
