"The new vintage of Renato Ratti's flagship wine: surprising, precise, and focused on elegance, according to Suckling!"

"Strong aromas of graphite, violet, mint, and chalky minerality. A surprising and precise wine, focused on elegance, with citrus flavors, a full body, and sumptuous, velvety tannins supported by freshness. Long, young, and flavorful finish." (James Suckling 2025)

A fine, bright ruby color with subtle coppery highlights characteristic of the Nebbiolo grape variety.

Nose

Delicate and complex, it opens with notes of ripe, luscious red fruits, cherry, and strawberry, then develops more complex tertiary aromas of oak and undergrowth.

About wine:

La Morra. Medium ruby color, bright with orange highlights. Open nose with pronounced cherry aromas, dark spice notes, and a hint of fresh mint. Much more compact on the palate. Fresh and supple cherry fruit with a layer of soft tannins. Tight finish for now: the best is yet to come. 2028-2040

Wine rated (2025 guide) 94/100

About wine:

The 2021 Barolo Marcenasco has a bright brick-red color and offers great complexity and clarity on the nose, opening with notes of candied orange, anise, cranberries, red currants, and minty herbs. The palate is equally concentrated, with refreshing energy and lively acidity, well-defined, rounded tannins, and a tangy finish. This is a beautiful wine from Ratti, with lots of personality, which can age elegantly and improve over the next 15 years or more. I would very much like to cover more of their wines in the future. 2025-2040
