"The new vintage from Renato Ratti's spearhead: stunning, precise, and focused on elegance according to Suckling!"

"Assertive aromas of graphite, violets, mint and chalky minerality. A stunning, precise wine focused on elegance, with citrus flavors, full body and sumptuous, velvety tannins supported by freshness. The finish is long, youthful and delicious. (James Suckling 2025)

Wine rated (2025 guide) 17/20

About the wine:

La Morra. Medium ruby color, brilliant with orange highlights. Open nose, with spicy cherry aromas, dark spices and a touch of fresh mint. Much more compact on the palate. Fresh, supple cherry fruit, with a layer of mellow tannins. Tight finish for now: the best is yet to come. 2028-2040

Assertive aromas of graphite, violet, mint and chalky minerality. A stunning, precise wine, focused on elegance, with citrus flavors, full body and sumptuous, velvety tannins supported by freshness. Long, youthful, savory finish. To be enjoyed from 2026, but at its peak after 2030.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 94/100

About the wine:

Barolo Marcenasco 2021 has a brilliant brick-red color and offers great complexity and clarity on the nose, opening with notes of candied orange, anise, cranberry, red currant and mentholated herbs. The palate is equally concentrated, with refreshing energy and acidity, well-defined, coiled tannins and a tangy finish. This is a fine Ratti wine, with lots of personality, that can age gracefully and improve over the next 15 years or more. I'd love to cover more of their wines in the future. 2025-2040
