"This Rosso di Montalcino is closer to a Brunello, according to Wine Advocate: an example of harmony deemed fantastic and haunting by critics."

"The Gianni Brunelli Le Chiuse di Sotto 2022 Rosso di Montalcino also has a richness all its own, contributing to a more complex interpretation of this entry-level wine. Dried fruit, cinnamon stick, and crushed stone are its hallmarks. I highly recommend this bottle for its balanced fruit flavors and medium-weight texture. I would venture to say that this wine is closer to Brunello than Rosso di Montalcino. [...] 2024-2030" (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker 2024)

About wine:

In recent years, Gianni Brunelli's fame and reputation have grown. After his death in 2008, his wife Laura continued to manage the estate, which is now one of the most sought-after producers of Brunello, with wines that are subject to strict allocation. To discover his meticulous and painstaking style, choose this Rosso, which is full-bodied and harmonious, with fresh fruit, lovely notes of licorice and tea leaves, and excellent balance. All in all, a beautiful expression of Sangiovese from Montalcino that has benefited from a year of barrel aging. A little less open than others, it could benefit from an extra year in the bottle before starting to be drunk. 2025-2034

About wine:

The Rosso di Montalcino 2022 is exotic, with blood orange and clove mingling with dried black cherries, sage, and crushed stones. The palate is refined and feminine, with lively acidity and ripe, soothing red and blue fruits. It leaves a slight tannic tension and a chewy sensation, ending with a long, haunting darkness. 2025-2031

About wine:

A vibrant, fruity red wine that reveals aromas of red cherries, berries, and potpourri. The palate is juicy, fresh, and finely structured, with lovely acidity and a precise, medium-length finish. It is not particularly complex, but it is well-balanced and delicious. Drink now.

About wine:

Bright red in color, Rosso Di Montalcino 2022 offers aromas of grenadine, apricot, tangerine, and pressed flowers. This medium-bodied Rosso remains pure and concentrated, with a beautiful balance of fruit. It has fine tannins and is graceful, with a refined texture on the palate. Harmonious to the touch, it is fantastically balanced and will have a long drinking window over the next 10 years. 2024-2034
