The 2016 Vin Jaune is characterized by a pronounced smoky note. The palate is lively, well-defined, and elegant—rather light for an Arbois Vin Jaune—and even shows a certain delicacy on the mid-palate.

About the estate:

This vast estate, located in the municipalities of Arbois and Pupillin, was founded by Roger Martin, a native of Burgundy, who—by planting 14 hectares of Savagnin—made it the largest vineyard in the Jura dedicated to this grape variety in the 1950s. Pierre, his son, and Vincent, his grandson, now run the estate. The estate has been practicing organic viticulture since 1999 and biodynamic viticulture since 2009. Many older vintages are still available at reasonable prices.
