“Minerality vies with floral notes. The overall impression is intense, fruity, and flavorful. This is a wine for fine dining; river fish in sauce will allow it to truly shine. ” (The Bettane & Desseauve Guide to French Wines 2012)

Rated estate (2012 guide): 3*Stars (Very high-quality production)

About the estate:

"The Poulsard vineyard planted in 1876 by their great-grandfather, Albert, is still in production. Today, Alain and Josie Labet work with two of their children (Domaine Labet), while Julien (Julien Labet Vignerons) cultivates 3 hectares on his own—including 1.7 hectares of vines over 60 years old. Yields are carefully controlled, and the soil is worked; fertilizers and insecticides are strictly prohibited. In the cellar, Julien focuses on producing wines from specific plots.”

Rated estate (2012 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a good standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

“Julien Labet is indeed the son of Alain, of Domaine Labet. After starting out working alongside his father, Julien began with 3 hectares in 2003. The two estates are quite distinct, and Julien recently decided to convert his estate to organic farming. All the wines are vinified using native yeasts and aged in oak barrels. We are impressed by the style and the lingering finish of the wines presented. The estate, which has rightfully established its own identity today, offers wines that demonstrate excellent consistency and a very authentic expression.”
