Rated estate (2025 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

The perfect choice for those who want to discover fine Languedoc wines that remain true to their terroir. Jérôme Joseph and Laurent Calmel are wine merchants without their own cellars. They age their selected vintages at the winemakers’ estates from whom they purchase them, preserving the original flavors and terroirs. A wide, delightful selection featuring many excellent wines and a few stunning surprises.

About the estate:

Laurent Calmel, an oenologist, teamed up with Jérôme Joseph to found a wine merchant firm in 1995 specializing in regional wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon. The duo launched their own label in 2007. They select the vineyards, vinify the grapes, and age the wines.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 17/20

Rated: Recommended

About the wine:

An intriguing autumnal nose with plenty of tobacco leaf on the palate. Slightly smoky, the fruit is subtle, as if it had been steeped and gently poached in tea. Red plums, wild currants, rosemary. Sweet, earthy spices. A subtle, restrained, and harmonious wine that echoes the earth’s character; it seems to hold back rather than rush at you. It would be magnificent with duck.

Review by Mr. PATRICE K. Posted on 12/02/2025

I'm sick and tired of these so-called "natural" wines that are full of artificial flavors. Or maybe "1j1v" needs to tell us that we have to wait for this kind of wine... I gave it 1 star, but it really deserves 0 stars.

A wine that is very acidic (too much so), fruity, fresh, and minty
