“A red wine with character”

With its intense garnet color, this Corbières—80% Syrah and 20% Grenache—delivers powerful aromas of black fruits, blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry, spices, licorice, and smoky notes following 12 months of barrel aging. Full-bodied on the palate, it offers round, velvety tannins and a smooth texture. A full-bodied wine to pair with hearty dishes.

About the estate:

Northwest of Lézignan-Corbières lies a vast estate (180 hectares) focused on exports, acquired in 1987 by Anne-Marie and Guilhem Durand. A pioneer in Languedoc-Roussillon. In 2015, it became the first estate in Languedoc to be acquired by a Chinese group, the importer BHC International Wine Assets Management. Located near the Minervois region, the vineyard is situated on an ancient terrace of the Aude, rich in rounded pebbles.

Deep red color. A nose with notes of pepper and blackberries. Be sure to open it 2 to 3 hours before serving and decant it. Delicious with spit-roasted or glazed partridges...

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 12/28/2022

A deep red color from which a very intense concentration of ripe black fruit aromas emerges, combined with notes of garrigue. The palate opens with the same powerful and warm intensity, and the same full-bodied, textured vigor, all brought to life by robust yet rounded and silky tannins. The finish is equally exuberant, with a hint of licorice and black pepper. Good aging potential. This masculine wine with a strong personality was enjoyed after an hour of decanting, paired with caramelized Iberian pork leg, chorizo and red bell pepper cream, and Catalan-style risotto. Rating = 4.
