Always very well defined, this cuvée is dominated on the nose by aromas of red fruits, complemented by spicy notes and very delicate floral nuances. On the palate, this Corbières is full-bodied and generous, with beautiful silky, fine, and elegant tannins, yet not lacking in power. Without a doubt, one of the appellation's greats!

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2016 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Patrick Reverdy and his son Laurent are very attached to their Carignan vines, which are a specialty of the Corbières-Boutenac terroir. This is right in the heart of the area designated for this vintage. The basic cuvée is a benchmark in Corbières. The Romain-Pauc cuvée, named in honor of a family ancestor, blends Carignan and Grenache vines that are mostly over 40 years old with younger Syrah and Mourvèdre vines.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rating (2017 guide) 14/20 (2014 vintage) (Good wine)
Rated estate (2017 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
Driven by a desire to showcase the unique characteristics of the Boutenac terroir, five generations have built the reputation of this benchmark estate in the Corbières region. Patrick Reverdy and his son Laurent are committed to promoting their old Carignan vines, the backbone of their production. Vinified using carbonic maceration, Carignan accounts for half of the blend in the iconic Romain Pauc cuvée. While many producers in Corbières are making rapid progress, La Voulte-Gasparets has not been left behind and, in recent vintages, has produced very consistent wines that often age well.
