“A silky, deep ruby color with purplish highlights. The nose offers aromas of red and black fruits with vegetal and peppery notes. On the palate, it displays seductive power combined with a touch of sweetness. It’s like an iron fist in a velvet glove! A great mineral freshness on the finish.” (Gilbert & Gaillard 2023).

Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
Like many estates in the Corbières region, Pech-Latt has monastic origins: the estate was once part of the nearby Abbey of Lagrasse, whose vineyards are first mentioned in 784. Located at the foot of Mount Alaric, this vast estate (340 hectares, including 160 hectares of vineyards) has been farmed organically since 1991. Lise Sadirac is now the estate manager of the property, which belongs to the Burgundy-based Louis Max group
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
5-star rated estate (Outstanding production)
About the estate:
At the foot of Mount Alaric, the Pech-Latt vineyards—certified organic—are planted on limestone and red marl soils. This requires a great deal of work, as the estate spans over 90 hectares, with a diverse range of grape varieties that give pride of place to Carignan and Grenache Noir, as well as Marsanne for the white wines. After destemming—except for a portion of the Carignan—the musts undergo extended fermentation, followed by aging in tanks or oak barrels for certain old vines.
Gilbert & Gaillard
Wine rated (2023 guide) 90/100
About the wine:
A deep ruby color with purplish highlights and a lovely oily texture. The nose offers red and black fruits with vegetal and peppery notes. On the palate, it delivers seductive power combined with a touch of sweetness. It’s an iron fist in a velvet glove! The finish is marked by a great mineral freshness.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2023 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
Notes of black cherries, blackcurrants, dried thyme, and peppercorns. Medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Firm and substantial, with a juicy core of cherries and blackcurrants at the center and a spicier, juicier core of blueberries toward the finish.

Review and comment by Mr. GILLES D. Published on February 20, 2024
Favorite these Grand Vins, where Pech-Latt’s art of blending reveals, from the very first whiff, a generous array of aromas of small wild berries (wild strawberries and blueberries, in particular) and fresh herbs, complemented by a subtle hint of white pepper and a touch of zest. Full-bodied, yet without excessive warmth or heaviness, the palate unfolds with an opulent, enveloping texture and a creamy mouthfeel, as well as a delightfully rich and slightly invigorating juice, supported by a generous dose of smooth, graceful tannins that evoke a delicate sensation of tenderness and sensual pleasure that persists from start to finish. Despite its outdated packaging, this highly appealing Corbières—rated TB. RQ/P.—is ready to be enjoyed today with Languedoc-style Corbières lamb shanks. Score = 4.2.
