Bettane & Desseauve

This vintage embodies the garrigue of the mountains and expresses the generosity and exuberance of a sun-drenched terroir. Clean, expressive and distinctive, blending small black fruits, scents of garrigue and notes of licorice, this wine is both crisp and structured, full-bodied and polished, carried by a pleasant touch of freshness. A very fine representative of its appellation.

Wine rated (2014 guide) 14/20 (Good wine)

Rated estate (2017 guide) Selected (An estate or winery that impressed us with one or more of its wines, but where we are unable to give an overall opinion on the style of the entire range)

About wine:

Rich and flattering, with very ripe fruit, woody notes, hints of garrigue, and good balance ensured by a fresh finish. Good potential.

About the estate:

Acquired by the Sichel family nearly 20 years ago, Château Trillol is beautifully situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees, at an altitude of 400 meters, close to Cucugnan. Forty hectares are planted with Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan, grape varieties that thrive in this beautiful terroir. The high altitude of the vineyard allows the wines to retain great aromatic complexity and lovely freshness.
