Château de l'Engarran - Grenat Majeur 2010

Château de l'Engarran - Grenat Majeur 2010

The Grenat Majeur vintage offers a nose combining cherry and raspberry, rolling into pepper and cinnamon. Blackcurrant appears, but also something fresher, minty or peppery, which awakens the taste buds. A smooth red wine, savory in the length of its tannins.

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2025 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

We admire the energy and healthy ambition of sisters Diane and Constance, who energetically run L'Engarran (50 hectares), scattered around an 18th-century folly. Diane, in charge of winemaking, strives for precision. The style highlights the great maturity of the grapes, which makes the wines opulent, with improvements in the quality of the tannins, which are finer and rounder.

Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Ch. de l'Engarran is an 18th-century Montpellier "folly" listed in the National Inventory of Historic Monuments. Three generations of women have made this 55-hectare estate one of the most beautiful addresses in Grés de Montpellier and Saint-Georges-d'Orques.
